I have no issues with legalizing it. In fact, I think it should be legalized. I just crack up every time I see the NORML folks fighting for it. I played at a NORML benefit a couple years ago. EVERYONE was stoned including teenagers (14 and 15 years old - I asked) who were there smoking with their parents. The guy got up to speak about all the reasons it should be legalized stoned off his ASS. The speech was something like: "Man, it is SO bogus that something so harmless and natural isn't available for law abiding citizens and, especially, people who could like use it for medicinal purposes. That's so uncool." Just SAY, "Dude, I love being stoned, man" and at least I'll believe you. But, don't throw a benefit, give a speech baked and, worst of all, bring your CHILDREN and let them get stoned with you if you want ANYONE to take you seriously.
rofl because it is true. This anecdote (sp?) is the perfect example of why pot isn't going to be legalized anytime soon - too many negative connotations and stereotypes of people who use it. I have always suspected that there are people who post here while stoned. Those posts aren't as easy to identify compared to the drunken posts (usually posted by our lovable Fat b*stard) but they exist, nonetheless.
DaDream is the Asian version of LHutz. For everyone reading this while stoned, I have one thing to say:
Unfortunately, most upstanding citizens who do indulge can not risk their careers to openly advocate legalization. I prefer legalization, however, I value my career too much to openly do so. There are many older professionals like myself who are in the same position. I smoked daily from the age of 13-30 and quit without any problem. In the last 18 years, I have smoked on a handful of occasions and no longer enjoy the feeling. I prefer the natural state, and as I posted earlier, hopefully, most people will learn that their normal state is preferable to chemical alteration.
I'm truly bothered by this thread, so I will just step out, but the way this is heading does disgust me, and I am glad the lawmakers are not making this easy. If there is ever a poll if we should legalize dope, you can count on my vote being no.
A friend of mine from Laredo always said there are three jobs in the valley: drug trafficking, chasing drug traffickers, and teaching. I'm guessing it's better in Brownsville, but legalizing the stuff would put a hit on the economy down there.
We thank you for your contribution and your steadfast reasons as to why you are disgusted by some of us.

Screw pot, legalize coke. Perhaps corporations would provide it to their employees as a means of increasing productivity. Not to mention Xanax, to help them sleep at night.
I think it should be decriminalized. Used in moderation - the herb will not hurt you much. Better than alcohol and certainly better than tobacco IMHO - better to be an alcoholic than to smoke tobacco- health wise Used in moderation - none of those will do much harm--The herb the least I need some Fritos-and a Dr. Pepper for the cotton mouth
Hehe - if I just went by the way some posts are put together, I would definitely consider Rocket River to be a stoner.
