Rest of NBA looking to get bigger, more skilled and add as many 2 way players as possible. Not Rockets.
That's an opinion piece from a kid in London, writing for a Magic fan site. He speaks for the Magic no more than does any CF poster speak for the Rockets. Here is another opinion piece from the same site that states "Green is perfect for the Magic": https://orlandomagicdaily.com/2021/...t-profile-jalen-green-is-going-to-be-special/
So now that Mobley crossed his arms and said "no workout" to Houston you guys are going to frame this like it was Stone or Ferntits' fault? Cmon man. This Jim Jones like following Mobley has with some here is just flat out spooky. Unable to bring yourselves to admonish and criticize the kid for anything, let alone completely botching one of his first professional "tests". Sorry no way that skipping an interview with a potential employer is a good look and no way it is the Houston Rockets fault especially to go QAnon with it and say its because of fear of some scouting report or future intel?? SMH. His occasional on court effort now has a real world example as a glaring red flag to the scouting department for the Rockets. For the record, if the Houston Rockets asked Green to come in for a workout and he declines and gives some BS excuse why - i'll feel the same way about him too. Stone dragging ass and waiting to the last minute might be an issue, but I dont know what standard procedures are with top rated prospects in terms of when to schedule workouts in the drafting process. Houston did bring in a few guys already so not sure what the holdup is and who to "blame" in terms of scheduling, but there is definitely nothing nefarious going on especially to spin it so that Mobley continues to look like the knight in shining armor. Every day that passes a trade down makes more sense.
Green does not fit Magic organization's emphasis on length and 2 way ability. ORL philosophy existed before Clifford.
What was the Cavs record with the great Jarrett Allen in the lineup? Surely he impacted winning in Cleveland with those talented guards and is worth 1/4th of a team's salary cap, right?
Dude averaged a double double and is young asf If the FO was serious about being in "winning now" mode and "minimizing gap years" they would have kept him Its obvious Stone is a puppet and Fertitta is full of it
We should be emulating the Cavs? Lol... Mind you as you know i love both players... but yeah, Cleveland would be loving that pairing. If the Rockets take Mobley instead of Green, Cleveland will be loving the addition of Green. They're going to love whichever of the 3 is left.
No we should be emulating the winning teams, like Cavs are trying to. 2 very skilled bigs on last 2 champions. 2 way play is also a winning formula. Trying to emulate Nets offense is foolhardy, need a formula to beat Nets instead. Because no matter how much you think Greenn is next Kobe, he is not nearly enough offense to beat a team with THREE best offensive players of current generation. Rockets need to counter that offense with smothering length, playmaking as well as offense. Unicorn 2 way player is still my pick. If winning is the ultimate goal, then pick players who have proven to elevate ALL the players on their team.
