Is a more athletic Pascal Siakam an apt comparison?

 

I like Mobley I just don’t like the idea of having a max player at the center position unless it’s a joker type player. We have wood on a nice deal I like Kelly next to him and maybe add a bruiser type rebounding/rim protector off the bench.

 

i just logged into this thread, and had to reply... cause this made me belly laugh... it's so on point, and so highlights, no offense to Plowman, that we have to move past these insiders, etc.

If this is the type of thinking leading this franchise - that Mobley can work with 84 year old CD, we're in trouble.

THIS IS NOT to say Mobley shouldn't be the pick or will be bad, or whatever. The dude can turn into a Giannis with a jumpshot for all i know...

 

Big men aren’t as effective as they used to be (see Embid vs trae young) we should be picking a guard IMO

After seeing this play from A 7 footer (a simple play yes) - I need to reevaluate my original opinion. With a re-built body frame in a couple years, this dude could be a major problem,

 

He has the highest potential and highest bust.

At least if we took Mobley, we know we'd be bottom 4 next year because he's also needing the most development.

 

When it comes to these two, Green and Mobley, I bet it comes down to interviews because I agree.

I think you could make an argument that either one of them is a future MVP talent, along with Cade should he be there at 2.

One thing I know for sure, these guys will probably be highly motivated in workouts/visits/interviews with the Rockets knowing who selects after us. Nothing against Cleveland the city but that franchise has become a wasteland outside of anytime Lebron put on their jersey. No way would I want to be drafted there.

 

posted this before, Mobley gives me Myles Turner vibes. Long and Lanky defensive presence. Plays at a slower pace. Has somewhat of a jumper. So, he'll need good guards for him to truly excel.

Now if he does develop those other aspects the sky is the limit, same as every super athlete. But will he, who knows. I’d rather bet on Mobley

For a little three minute promotional clip, Joey missed a hell of a lot of those 2 footers. Yikes.

 

Can you imagine how butthurt and even more toxic Wood would be if Mobley landed on the team? He was already irritated and perturbed anytime any of the youngsters shined last year. I can already see his eyes rolling back everytime Mobley steals some of his thunder. Chemistry would be shot.
