    Link doesn't work. :)

    Fine....maybe he does jump high.

But he still can't dunk like Posey.

But he can shoot better, pass better, play defense somewhat better, but also has Tim Duncan.

I'm sure...in a 1on1 game between Posey and Ginobili, Posey would win. :)

But Ginobili seems to play better since he is luckily with the Spurs organization....

    Oh well!

The Spurs will not get Jason Kidd by the way.

Ginobli is going to be really good...a 2nd tier star, kind of like Brent Barry.

I wish the Rocks had him.

Anyone else around here wish we had kept Oscar Torres?

What do you mean by second tier star? Is Brent Barry is a second tier star?

2nd tier is a good NBA player, above average.

    I see it this way.

SuperStar - Shaq, Kobe, Duncan, K-G, T-mac, AI
Star (1st Tier)- Francis, Pierce, Nowitski, Webber
2nd tier - Barry, Rashard Lewis, Mobley etc..etc

I'm a little more descriptive in my superstar/star definition from an offensive standpoint.

top role player = 10yr career starter
star = cannot be stopped by one player, but double teams can make him give it up passively (sometimes HOF).
superstar = he commands double teams and can even beat them (always HOFer)...whether he burns you with passing or scoring

of course this does not measure the defensive side of the court.

    HP,

So by your definition would Mobley be a star?

The game is not played 1-on-1 though. Ginobili right now has that on-court IQ, intangibles, "make things happen" and "changing momentum" ability which Posey doesn't have. He may not be a better player in a 1-on-1 game but he is a bigger impact player in a basketball game than Posey and that's the most important thing.

Ginobili makes alot steals so some people think he's a gambler(Doug, AI) instead of a lock-up type defender(Bruce Bowen, T-Mac, KG...). But actually most of his steals are not from the passing lane. His hand is quick enough to strip the ball from Kobe when he ballfakes.

    This guy's offense is wicked.

Wouldn't be as effective on the offensive because he's isn't as good a ball handler, passer, or shooter.

Manu is good, he is a difference maker on the floor. The Spurs are lucky to have him.

He is a hustle player with smarts and skills, the Rocks are desperate for such a player.

    Lucky spurs.

Winning and making the playoffs makes Ginobli seem a lot better and Posey seem a lot worse.

Isn't a team made up by players? So nice players make a nice team no huh?

No offense but my bet is that Spurs would be a worse team with Posey or Mobley instead of Manu.
