we just saw the crown of boxing passed on. ODH is a legend but not a Fighter. Manny is a machine and showed the world that boxing can be exciting and not an old world sport. for those that said boxing is dead and MMA is the new deal....Manny "pacman" pacquiao is it's savior.

Damn, what a buttkicking. Longwind is a huge DLH fan, and was distraught through the whole fight, yelling "THROW SOME DAMN PUNCHES" at the TV. I heard analysts afterward say they thought DLH "overtrained". I call BS on that...DLH is just old and needs to retire & become a fulltime promoter.

I'm still surprised about how many people thought Oscar was going to dominate Pacman. It was the exact opposite. They said the size difference was too much but It didn't seem to play a factor at all. All that talk about Oscar being too strong went out the window. This was pure domination by the little man.

I could not believe De La Hoya didn't at least throw a few bombs - he was scared to throw anything. Every time DLH would throw something Pac would hit him with that straight left and it was hurting him bad -- by the 5th round he was in agony.

Give it up to Freddie Roach. He knew how to get into Oscar's head. The controversy over how Oscar tapes his hands surely got under his skin. Seeing Roach standing next to Oscar as they taped his hands had to irritate him. I didn't like the fact that Oscar blamed his last loss to Mayweather on Freddie Roach. Man up and just say you lost. Last night, Oscar couldn't say anything. He just simply got beat.

I think one thing people forget with DLH is that, for his entire career, if he was fighting you knew it would be a good fight. I mean he is one of the few guys that has gone out of his way to fight the best of the best, and sure, he lost most of those fights, but boy, he made those fights exciting by going to-to-toe with the best of the best.

I only saw the highlights of this one but it looked like the massive cut in weight had a major effect on him. I think this was stretching it for one big pay day too much.

I think thats his career finished right there, but having said that, he is making huge money now as a promoter so its not all bad news for him

It's kinda funny now that the best pound-for-pound boxer and the biggest (and arguably the best) center in the NBA are both Asian. Not that there are waves of future Pacquiaos and Yao Mings lurking in the Phillipines and China, though.

:D Oscar Delahoya: Most overrated boxer since??? What’s his best win? (Gold Medal Match as amateur?) He lost to all the truly great fighters he ever faced (Trinidad, Mosely twice, Hopkins, Mayweather, Pacquio). His wins over Pernell Whitaker, Felix Sturm, and Ike Quartey were very sketchy. Fernando Vargas was never that good to begin with. His fan base is legendary and he is a good ppv draw. Those are his best qualities. The Dynamo also started losing big games when he bought the team j/k

Yea I don't think anyone believes Oscar is one of the greatest boxers of all time. He was a great amateur, great Olympian, and a great businessman. He was very marketable and thats why he has generated more money for boxing than any other fighter in history.

I give it up to the guy though for always facing top competition. He was never good enough to beat any of them, we all knew that even during all those fights. The only one he could have easily won was the Trinidad fight but he got too cocky and lost it for himself. It kinda sucks for him that he had to go out on such a sad note though.

I'm just glad I got to see someone whoop his ass before he retired.

He beat Trinidad, and probably won the second Mosley fight. He hasn't been shy about ducking anyone either. Last few fight DLH was well past his prime. He is a very good fighter maybe not great, but a very good one.

There have been a few guys who come along that I just became an instant fan when I saw them fight.. best example I can think of it Marco Antonio Barrera.. the night he kicked that ARSE of that scrawny little POS 'Prince Naseem Hamed' (LOL, anybody even remember THAT guy? He was a big star there for a while), I was cheering for MAB.. he's done now, really, but wow, dude was a MAN.

Nope. It was one of maybe 5 shots DLH hit Pacquiao with during the whole fight.

^ ODLH better not EVER AGAIN have the Mexican National Anthem or the Mexican flag anywhere near him after that piss poor performance and wussy quitting Saturday. Freakin' embarrassment to Hispanics anywhere. I would have given him credit for FIGHTING BACK, but he didn't even do that. What a shame.

    He's from the Estados Unidos...

He needs to become a full-time promoter, and quit being a fighter. He's lost it.
