I swear to G... Manny will be labeled as the "Mexican-American Assassin" after this... Ma-Bu-hai [pronunciation? ]
Man I'm so hyped about this fight. Whats a good spot to watch this fight? I remember watching the last Manny fight at a Mexican bar, or was it a bar full of Mexicans? I forget, anyways I remember being one of the few cheering for Manny. It was a fun night.
I'm bypassing my company's holiday party for this fight...Going to be at a friend's house with my dude. Like always, I'm going for that hottie, DLH.
Im callin 3-4 rd KO for Oscar, Pacman leaves his self open for too much shots. He cant escape that left hook with all the prayers in the world. I think he will come out the gate swinging but will get caught with one shot in the early rounds, and once DLH smells blood Manny is in a world of s**t. Im rooting for Oscar, but I know he picked this fight cause of the advantage he has. I also like Manny but this is and will be the fight he regrets taking.
Fishnets hasn't cut to 147 since 2001 when he fought Gatti. He looks completely drained and got beat up in training camp by Victor Ortiz (whom is fighting on the undercard and got sent home after 2 weeks) and Edwin Valero (that's where DLH's black eye came from in some of the pics you may have seen a month or so ago). Valero was beating him up pretty bad (he hits as hard as Manny) and got sent home in a week. Pacquiao adjusted and looked good in his training camp (dropped Amir Khan countless times and adjusted to Rashad who was giving him problems early). It's still a tough call. DLH is going to walk into the ring between 160-170 while I doubt Pacquiao come in much higher then the 147 lb limit (150-153 maybe). DLH seems to have abandoned his jab and that will cost him dearly against Manny if the trend continues. If he uses his jab to set up his straight right and left hook, Manny doesn't have a chance. I will be at the fight rooting for Manny like the majority of the crowd. The red carpet was yesterday, and it's one of the rare occassions DLH's opponent has had a bigger turn out then him (Tito, Vargas and Chavez are the ones I can remember)
If Pacquiao wins don't be surprised to see Floyd come out of retirement. In fact, it's 50/50 he is going to do it anyways. He starting training hard about a month ago at his personal gym (he trains in the middle of the night so no press or anyone outside his camp sees anything). He doesn't do that regularly (they just shut the gym down at 2:30 when he comes to work out before fights).
i too am wondering this. i've never been here, but they're all showing it. i'm not sure if there is a cover charge though. http://www.bigjohnsbar.com/index.htm i haven't called the better known places such as LIVE, SRO or lucky's to see if they'll be carrying the fight.
http://myboxingfans.com/tag/manny-pacquiao/ Oscar is almost 5’11” and Manny is almost 5’7” so Oscar is clearly bigger. However, Manny has almost similar stats in several categories. Oscar vs. Manny 72" Reach 67" 13 3/4 Biceps 13 31 3/4 Waist 28 13 1/2 Calf 15 7 Wrist 8 9 Fist 10 So, Manny is smaller but physically, he may be bigger. Manny has bigger wrist, fist and calves. I don’t know if that means anything come fight night but this size issue may be blown out of proportion a bit.
Manny is a lil overrated to me, all the guys he beat were either in the old, or not quality competitors...he needs to take on mayweather....he would get eaten up. as for as DLH, tough call, manny's quickness is sick. and dlh is stronger, but a lot slower and older. ill give it to manny, just want to be a good fight. I hate early knockouts.
How did you hear about this? Any clips of Amir getting dropped by Manny? Prescott knocked his career out of the kid.
Same argument can be made for Oscar. He never beat top competition. Anytime he faced anyone good he lost. Mosely (twice), Trinidad (which he clearly lost by one round for getting cocky), Mayweather, and a knockout loss to Hopkins. The only reason Oscar made this fight happen is because he is at a clear advantage in everything except speed. Personally I hope Oscar gets destroyed. I have always hated Oscar. Why didn't he decide to fight someone his own size in a division which they dominate. Cotto, Margarito, Williams, Pavlik etc. I'm calling a 10th round TKO. Oscar will get careless...try to brawl..get caught and the ref will have to call it.
I agree, maybe some trash talking? Manny is too nice of a guy. Oscar is a complete douche but he isn't an ass to his opponents. When Manny wins..they should set up a fight with him and Hatton...then when he beats Hatton...he can fight Mayweather and get completely 0wned.
A couple of other good fights we should be excited about.. Margarito vs Mosley, Vic Darchynian vs Jorge Arce, and Andre Berto vs Luis Collazo. Also, I'm really hoping they make the Juan Diaz vs Juan Manuel Marquez fight happen.
