I don't think any of his solo stuff sounds very Floydish. Neither did the Final Cut. But I liked TFC a lot (contrary to most PF fans). I also liked Pros and Cons a lot. Radio Kaos was not bad. Didn't care much for Amused to Death. I liked "Each small candle" a bit.
Nice article. A couple mos. back or so I bought a British mag - Uncut, I think - which had a long article on Pink Floyd from Waters perspective; and while he seemed less vindictive than he is portrayed he did go on about how no one in the band other than him was writing any music after WYWH. It kind of surprised me as I had always viewed Gilmour as the more important (and best songs) member of the two.
I loved The Final Cut. Liked Radio Kaos too. After that, and after seeing them without Waters on that first tour, I stopped paying attention. No reason, just lost interest. Never heard Amused to Death. I didn't see the Live 8 thing, but if they toured I'd go out of my way to catch it. There were times in high school when no one was bigger than Floyd to me. I wouldn't mind reliving that.
