I already picked the point. Now you sharpened an edge that feeds into my point. If someone sharpens the other side, this point is to be one bomb ass arrowhead.

vet min. he probably is already making more in endorsements per year than his current salary per year anyway. it's also obvious if he wants to play for the rockets, he will take a paycut. no way around it. he also knows that a good bench is important to team success.

if he gets bought out now, he wont have to wait till next year to play for the team he wants to play with.

I think Bron wants to go west. He wants to beat GS so bad that he is willing to go some place that gives him the best chance. If we get Melo, Then Bron would have his revenge. Join us and take down the evil empire, then smash whoever comes out the east. Bron needs someone who can lead the team, and For all the greatness that Uncle drew has, Harden fits much better than he does

This is breaking news from like two weeks ago when Melo decided on
Houston. I guess I should have broken this news, Mannix beat me to it.

The tax bill is going to be high going forward, but the Rockets have vast ave to get the deal done...

Ariza expires, Melo opts, Paul opts..... that will open up $37 million in salary. You use that to split among Melo, Cp3, and Lebron. Wade can get the scraps...... if they wanna win.... then they will make it work..

plus we will have capela, gordon, tucker... all postive assets to send out to create even more cap space.

I mean whocares...... the goal is to win the ship........ you mortgage the team for the ring.... even if it just one.....and start over after every one leaves.

Who is them? I could be wrong but he will be a free agent so trade assets wont mean anything. Clearing up cap room will though.

I am pretty sure LeBron stated he wanted to own a team or at least have substantial stock in one. I don't think he going to take a pay cut.

Nope all I've ever said is that they have to take paycuts to make it happen. I mean I don't think it will actually happen but certainly not an idiot for speculating about it. What I've argued against is some of the dream scenarios people have laid out. I think my quote was that it is virtually impossible unless multiple guys are taking big paycuts

They want to play together. James is already here. We get rid of Anderson for Melo and we have no bad contracts on the books. They'll get their heads together. Paul and Melo will take one-year pay cuts. And they'll make it happen.

And at some point in 2018-19 we'll see Paul, Wade, Harden, LeBron, and Melo on the floor together.

It's blatantly obvious this is the route this franchise is going. I don't know if it will be good enough to beat the Warriors. These guys are all aging (except Harden). However I can't really criticize it. And we should be able to enjoy 3-4 years here of, at the very least, competing to be the best the NBA has with loads of great NBA action to discuss and chronicle.
