and when Peyton won the superbowl, it was the defense that won the game, not Peyton.

and in the superbowl he lost, when he needed to make big plays he threw a pick six at the end of the game.

Broncos not beating the Patriots. Brady will win his 4th ring.

...and when Tim Tebow started, the Broncos went 7-4.

Knocking Tom Brady because Matt Cassel looked good throwing to Randy Moss, Wes Welker, & Marshall Faulk is just dumb. It's the QB's who can do more with less that separate themselves. Andrew Luck isn't there yet, but he made a statement this year. The Cassel's & Flynn's of the world look good driving someone else's Ferarri, but aren't going anywhere with Hilton, Fleener, & Hayward-Bay as their best weapons.

Manning is one of the greats for sure. He's carried teams in the past, but he isn't breaking records this year because he's at his peak. He's breaking records because he's never had as many weapons(Few have) as he does this season.

Nothing screams hack like relying soley on # of Super Bowl wins to rank QBs.

How much control did Bellichick have in Cleveland? I don't know much about him before.

Were Denver's WRs elite prior to Manning's arrival?

Manning is basically the end all to all of his teams offensively, and rarely has had a great defensive unit to back him up. Brady, for the most part, has had a great defense to back him up.

Defense goes a long way to winning Super Bowls. Brady won his first 3 SBs by managing games, and putting up field goals, with the defense the main reasons they won.

well, Manning also won his ring, managing the game against the bears, and the defense was the one that kept forcing turnovers.
in the next superbowl, when they played a great QB, manning couldnt keep Brees pace in scoring.

    D. Thomas was an elite WR even with Tim Tebow.
Welker, was great with the pats
Decker would play this good, with any of the top 3 QBs, he showed
    some promise with Tebow too.

Manning is more cerebral and intelligent than Brady.

But, brains aren't everything and some people can be a bit too smart (i.e. they overthink things). Brady just has that "IT" factor, he is more of an actual leader and knows how to win.

    So, I prefer Brady.

That said, I think Denver wins the game this weekend in a shootout.

Again, Brady threw for 735 yards, 6 TD, 1 INT in those three superbowls with game winning final minute drives in two of them and a superbowl MVP

Manning is the better qb, but Brady isn't a choke artist.

I would take manning because he can turn a turd into gold, but he will more than likely sink in the big game.

Yeah, that describes Brady better than it does Manning. If you had to pick which one has had less help (in terms of WRs/TEs) between the two in their careers, you'd have to go with Brady overall.

It took two miracle drives and passes from his brother Eli, to not be down 5 to 1 in the SB win count. Brady is just a superior quarterback in important games. He's only second to Montana in the history of football.

Matt Cassel ran Tom Brady's offense.

Tim Tebow did not run Peyton Manning's offense.

Curtis Painter stepped into the seat of a Superbowl contending, 12-win team, and proceeded to epically crap the bed en-route to 2 wins.

Matt Cassel did the same and kept the train rolling.

It raises a legitimate concern about whether Tom Brady really is the catalyst behind the majority of the Patriots success. Whereas with Peyton Manning, we have *zero* doubt about that.

Playing the Tim Tebow card to cast doubt is about as dumb as playing the VY card at this point, as it's pretty well understood that those teams won *despite* those guys, and not because of them.

Also, don't you mean Kevin Faulk? (that dude isn't any great shakes)

Reggie Wayne? Marvin Harrison? Dallas Clark? Edgerrin James? Joe Addai?

I think it's safe to say that Manning has had just as good, if not better, supporting talent in the past.

What always killed him in Indy was the lack of a defense.
