I guess pissing off your not great, coming off an injury QB in the last year of his deal. I get that there is tremendous risk and I personally think he's done, but you still have to make the call to be sure in case he isn't. A non-done Manning here is a franchise changer, on and off the field.
if Manning can truly throw again would it not make sense for him to have an open session for media to watch? there would be no need for speculation and it only drives his price up. if he's at 85% then he should prove it. that would really put pressure on the Texans to take a serious look at him.
You're speaking as if the media and/or fans really have an impact on where Manning will go. They don't. And Manning ending speculation would do nothing for himself. He's going to work out for the teams he is considering and that want him. I doubt he cares if the other people/teams know how good is arm is.
well, so much for the skins as a destination for schaub. anybody have a backup team to ship him to that we can dream about? browns? fins? seahawks?
the jets are seemingly not even that interested in peyton...i can't imagine that they'd dump sanchez for schaub, while losing a 1st rounder. as for the broncos, who knows what the hell elway is thinking. he should just trade tebow to the jags now, and quit having to play games with the kid/media/fans.
Not sure about schaub being our back up QB. We need to trade him and cut jacoby to open more cap space to resign other important players. http://nflfilms.nfl.com/2012/03/09/why-peyton-manning-will-sign-with-houston/?module=HP11_hot_topics
The only human being in Denver that does not like Tebow is John Elway. He even publicly said that he wants legit competition to push Tebow learning how to throw. Not sure why Elway is stirring the pot that much. I'm a secondary Jets fan, so it's probably just wishful thinking on my part that the Jets replace Sanchez. That guy is NOT a good QB. As for comp, I'd like to get a veteran CB for Schaub. That would really solidify the other side of Joseph.
Jets just gave Sanchez a 3 year extension so cross them off. . . . . . That's nice and all and good that he wants to play here but Texans have to want him too and that doesn't seem to be the case.
lol. wow. breaking news, on cue: http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/sto...-mark-sanchez-deal-end-pursuit-peyton-manning
The Texans need to get their heads out of their butt and contact Manning's agent. Then set up a meeting and a throwing session. If he proves he can make the throws, you sign the guy, and trade schaub to a qb needy team like miami, SF, Seattle, Denver, KC, etc. If he doesn't have the arm strength, don't sign him. If Schaub gets his feelings hurt he can get over it. This team with a healthy Manning is the favorite to win the Super Bowl for the next few seasons.
How do they put Jay Cutler in the "We love him, but we really don't need him" group with Brady, Big Ben, Rivers, Rodgers, Brees, and Eli?
