Uh, when you play in the same division as the best team in baseball, when you play them more than you play other teams (other than the other teams in your division), of course it's harder to make the playoffs. Duh.
Forget the manager, I'd like to have PLAYERS that know how to win in the playoffs. No matter who manages us, we won't win a playoff series without hitting.
Spence, What the heck do you know, you only have 199 posts....this is a battle of the juggernaut posters....whose lives are obviously to miserable to do something other then post on a BBS. DD
Well of course it is easy for someone who is wrong as often as you are.... SHEESH !!!! I was wrong about the never making the playoffs deal. By the way, I think that we just are going to have to agree that we have different opinions, and leave it at that. Isn't it time for you to go to the Brown Bag Deli? Man, I am envious of you guys in Houston about that. It sounds awesome. DD
Let's mark this special occasion. DaDakota and RM95 agree to disagree. Here's hoping you're eating some crow come this time next month.
I can tell you for a fact that the most runs scored in Astros history was one of the years Dierker was manager. As for Elarton, Hampton and Kile...Kile did perform well again once he got out of Colorado. See Coors Field for Elarton as well...but you're only telling half the story there, too....we didn't trade him because he was so good here...but rather because he was so disappointing. As for Hampton...he had arguably his best year ever the year after he left...he was the anchor for a world series team in New York. remember that???
