I agree. Also even if you take the map at face value consider that some of the countries with the least rates of repeat offenders also have some of the most lenient penal systems.

When the Karmashariateria catches shoplifters they get their address and send someone to steal something of equal value from their home.

As materialistic as people are in the US, that might work pretty good here. Giving up the big-screen tv would hurt a lot of people worse than giving up their right arm.

Imagine if everytime someone embezzled/panzie schemed/white collar crimed
the result was X number of years in jail and every dime they ever made

Take it from their whole family. . . no giving it to your wife or kids
    take it ALL
Then a large fine on all future earnings. . .

    Economic death penalty

In that case. . . the prosecutor would have went to jail for 42 yrs
If prosecutors knew they could goto prison for wrongful prosecution
then I doubt they would cheat defendents out of their rights

Even under Saudi law the prosecutor wouldn't go to jail since Taylor did agree to plead No Contest to the charges. Also if you are saying that the law hates to admit mistakes why would the prosecutor or judge even recognize they made mistake? If we had a system like Saudi Arabia they would've sentenced Taylor to death by fire 42 years ago and that would've been it.

While I agree with your overall point, In terms of how most people would define safety, as in hypothetical "would I feel safe walking across a dark alley at night without getting robbed" type of thing, I would rate the US incredibly low.
