Psst... this should be a message in your commercials. My idea: split screen the last 20 seconds of that game. One half is a guy at home watching the game, the other half is a person at the game (surrounded by other fans). Audio is Geno calling the game. THAT would show the difference between the two. The "Man, I have better seats at home" argument kills sporting venues nowadays.
For those who have been to TC - What's the lighting like? On TV, it looks like stage lighting: the court is lit up brightly, but the crowd and seats are in darkness. Personally, it seems like those arena lighting schemes help to deaden the arena. Sacremento and Dallas seem really, really bright and energized. That's the way they come across on TV, anyway. So what's it like in the Toyota Center?
That was my first to the Toyata Center and I thought the crowd was about average during the 1st 3 quarters. I definitely thought it got a lot better during the last quarter and when JJ hit the game winner, the place went nuts.
It's like you describe it. The court is well lit, but its dark where people sit. I kind of felt like I was sitting in a movie theatre.
A buddy told me the score over the phone, and he said that when he read the recap from ESPN.com, the lighting-quick speed of the web-page told him that there wasn't much internet traffic, and therefore not much interest in the game.
