Interesting that the overwhelming majority of European males, just as an example, are uncircumsized, and they have managed quite well. Conquered a huge chunk of the world in their day. Have a very high civilization. Putting aside religious reasons, which I can't fault, everything I've read tells me that it is, with rare exceptions, a useless, unnecessary procedure. We didn't do it on my 15 year old son, and he's perfectly fine, as best we can tell. Certainly, he didn't have any infections, or anything else, while he was young enough that we got a look at it, lol!
Hmmm...I wonder if I can sue my parents for lopping off my foreskin without my permission. I think we may have the next wave of frivilous lawsuits...
wow, this is one of the few threads where I actually read through the ENTIRE thing. it was pretty entertaining.
I had my son circumsized for one main reason: So he wouldn't look r****ded. We all knew that one guy who wasn't circumsized. Most people don't want their penis to look like a burrito.
I really don't think that the 5th grade junior high gym class mentality is a very good justification. To prevent getting teased by kids, (like that wont happen anyway with 9 year olds) we should take a sharp blade to our kids weewees? Yeah, weewees. I'll admit I had a very strong reaction in my first post. After all, it's not really affecting anyone in a major way. I just find it bizarre that it's so status quo for what it is. My mom's a child birth educator and used to work in delivery so she's pretty well versed on the science and practice of it. I agree with her on this even though we're complete opposites in things like politics. I'll try and find that source info for the masturbation prevention explanation. Alright. Enough of this. Dick joke time. There was one about a foreskin wallet that turned into a suitcase when you shake it. It was a great joke but you get the gist.... cough.
i knew a girl that was dating a guy and she asked him to have the surgery. A few months later she broke up with him.
That's nothing. The ancient Jews had some people who wanted to be their friends. So, the Jews asked that all their males be circumsized. They did it and while they were in recovery, the Jews came and slaughtered them all.
Oh god...A-Train, you have me crying I'm laughing so hard... I never even knew it was that big of a deal. Do I like my boyfriend's circumsized goods? Yes. Would I still enjoy it if he was uncircumsized? Not really sure...but I guess there's nothing he can do about it now... :]
Why are you going off on the doctor? He did it to prevent complications! Sometimes doctors will graft some extra skin from elsewhere to help with healing. They might take out an extra piece of bone to prevent complications with a joint. Or fuse a joint together to prevent complications with the area. Regardless, a doctor can't consult with a patient about every little thing that occurs during surgery.
