Man stole goat in Lakeway, served it at barbecue, police say...(hispanic?)

am i racist for instantly assuming the thief was latino?

A man accused of stealing a Lakeway man's goat and then serving it at a barbecue has been charged with felony theft.

Javier Aguirre, 27, was in custody Wednesday at the Travis County Jail. Inmate records indicate he also is charged with possession of a controlled substance and is being detained for immigration reasons.

An arrest affidavit said that on Nov. 8, a Lakeway man called police to report that his 7-month-old goat had been stolen from pens behind his home. The thief used bolt cutters to gain access to the pen, the affidavit said. The victim told police he heard from an acquaintance that Aguirre had stolen the goat.

The goat weighed up to 245 pounds and was valued at $3,500, the affidavit said.

Aguirre was already in custody at the Travis County Jail when detectives spoke with him.

Detectives looked in his impounded truck and found blood and goat hair in the bed, the affidavit said.

Aguirre told the detectives that he stole the goat and took it to a home where it was butchered, the affidavit said. Aguirre told them the goat was barbecued and served to people in the Apache Shores neighborhood near Lake Travis, the affidavit said.

He told detectives he took that goat because it was "very gentle, like a dog," the affidavit said.

however, i would have filled the goat w/ that engine cleaner that makes your car spew a bunch of smoke when you start it up.

imagine this coming out the goats butthole when they put him on the bbq.
