Man Sentenced to Prison because Girl lied about her age on Myspace

    So spanking your child is illegal, but allowing her to hoar around in the streets is ok?

    I feel bad for the guy honestly. I feel sorry for the girl. I feel hatred for the father. He is the criminal in this case IMO.

    Well that should make it easier on everyone. If she doesn't have a drivers license, obviously she isn't of age and you should steer clear on her. You must check IDs at all times, they're trying to get in your "club" so be a "bouncer" and check those IDs.

    I almost started my post by saying "This is unbelievable", but that would be inaccurate. In this day and age, it's not unusual to see something so stupid, where a guy can go to jail even with proof that he was lied to. The same lie that already landed another guy in jail.

    I'm not saying it's ok to sleep with a girl and then use the "I thought she was older" excuse, but if there's an exception to that, this is it. The girl promotes herself proudly as a 19 year old even after putting two men behind bars. I mean, the guy obviously wasn't out to sleep with an underage girl, as shown by the fact that he went to her father as soon as he found out.

    In theory the Feds could prosecute her the same way they are prosecuting that woman who pretended to be a boy which eventually lead to the suicide of her daughter's friend (yeah I know that's convoluted, but I can't think of a better way to present it)

    I think the Feds said that woman violated facebook's user agreement or something like that. I really have no idea as I'm not a fed, nor do I suggest going down this course of action (slippery slope here we come), but that is a possibility...

    I have a friend who had something similar happen to him . He met this girl at an eighteen and up club , and she had a stamp tramp along with several other tattoos . Come to find out she had been using her big sisters ID to get into the clubs , and to get the tattoos . He didn't even have sex with the girl , he just felt her up , and she did the same to him . The chick even admitted to it in court . He was sentenced to 2 years in prison , then 10 years parole after he was released , and he has to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life !! Thats pretty messed up , not just because hes my friend , but just messed up no matter who it would have happened to .

    Terrible situation all around and agree that the person who should hold some blame is the dad. For the girl while she might get off scott free for this now I can see a bad Karmic comeuppance for her sometime in the near future. A sexually precocious 13 year old with a problem with the truth and almost no parental control is headed for trouble.

    The prosecutors should be able to use discretion in trying these cases. In a clear case of deceit on the part of the minor female, they should decline to prosecute.

    And the public needs to know about and not re elect District Attorneys that choose to let such a travesty of justice prevail.
