I agree. They could have just added more scenes of Creasy kicking @ss if they wanted more length to the film. I didn't like the whole little girl still being alive bit. It didn't need to have the "Hollywood Happy Ending" for me. I would have liked the movie better had he just went on a rampage and ended with the dad killing himself.

I also think Christopher Walken could have been used better. He obvisouly had a similar past as Creasy and it might have worked well to have him more involved in the revenge.

OK, I enjoyed the movie. But why exactly did The Voice keep the girl alive? Yes, "a dead girl is worth less than a live one" or whatever he said...but if he was just keeping her as a bargaining chip why didn't he negotiate with the mother when he had a chance? And yes, it wound up helping him in the end since returning her saved his brother's life, but how was he supposed to know that something like that was going to happen?

The keeping her alive thing just doesn't make any sense...

isn't this based on a true story?? i don't think this was a Hollywood happy ending...i think it's based on a true story where the kid was actually still alive.

    Maybe I'm delusional...

But I went INTO the movie thinking that the girl was going to be alive the whole time and that Denzel would try to rescue her...

I was SHOCKED when Denzel got shot and hospitalized after the abduction...

    WHY?

B/c in the commercial trailers for this movie, I could have sworn I saw a scene (over and over again) where Denzel is standing in the street and yells into his cell phone, "If you touch one hair on her body, I'll kill you"... but that scene wasn't in the movie!!!

I HATE WHEN THEY DO THAT!!!!

Yeah, going into the movie I remembered from a preview the line "I want proof of life!" So because of that I pretty much knew that she was still alive...

wow. are you serious? i can't believe i missed that. i spent much of the movie waiting to hear that line.

the adrenaline rush i felt during denzel's streak of revenge must have negatively affected my hearing.
