Geez....I was expecting him to jump off into the water.....not splat on the concrete.....not that jumping onto the water from that height would have been much different.
In my memory it was two or three survivors, as well as friends and family of suicides, as well as one or two who had attempted other means before, with in-depth interviews of all involved, but yes, it's been a while. You're likely correct. The movie was decidedly about suicidal depression, and the thoughts of those in that state, with the Golden Gate Bridge as the common thread.
