Instead of just bashing them for the 4th quarter, how about giving them credit for the first 3 quarters? They've had problems in the past and like tonight, they'll still have times when they revert back to their old selves. But they are doing a MUCH better job at getting Yao the ball (when's single covered at least). There will still be time when they can't, but the progress is evident.

the progress is not evident on their IQ, otherwise they wouldn't have made the same mistakes in the 4th quarter. In the 4th quarter, it wasn't about their ability to feed Yao the ball, it was about their willingness to do it. They seem to be improve their skills of feed Yao in the post, but this attitude problem is still with them. if they put their heart in it, they can get much better.

Well, maybe the 2nd and 3rd quarters. But we weren't playing well in the 1st.

That's the problem. It seems that over and over the Rockets would go stretches w/o Yao even touching the ball. This is hardly rocket science. It shouldn't take anyone 2/3 of a season to figure out how to run the plays. Especially when there's a coach there yelling directions to you during the game.

Even when Yao isn't shooting, the offense just flows better by running it thru him.

I agree - last night against the Lakers was a PERFECT example of how SF3 should be playing. He got his points (but in the flow of the game) AND he got the 10 assists we all expect from a PG in the offense !

btw - what was the deal with those refs - getting Shaq AND Yao in foul trouble THEN swallowing their whistles !?!?

I like Allen but I would not trade for him because he is too fragile. You guys also forget that the knock against him was that he shot too much when he was part of the big three.

If Steve gets traded, he is going to the EAST!

They're fundamentally bad and JVG makes them look even worse.

Ummm, I think you're missing the point here. Yao SHOULD be the one to take the most shots and have the most points, and Francis needs to start to defer, which I think he is bit by bit. Francis just needs to realize that Yao is the main cog and the team would probably win a lot more games. And yes, Yao is the more efficient scorer, the guy is shooting over 50%. Hell, NBA history tells us that the most proficient scorers have been centers.
