Sorry I didn’t mean the guy sitting in front of the victim was calm, he was actually one of the first to get off the bus, and admitted everyone panicked. The killer was the guy who was calm, I’m thinking if he’s mad about something or crazy he would be shouting things, though according to the witness he remained calm and silent without emotion throughout the incident, even when he was stabbing the guy. I was thinking more in the lines of it being a paranormal incident....though maybe I’ve seen too many X-File episodes. It just sounds strange...

Also I don’t think anyone could have done anything to help the kid, the back of the greyhound has very limited space. It’s not as if people could have rushed him, it wouldn’t have been possible, each guy would have had to go one by one, and that I think that would be suicide...can't blame anyone for being a coward in this situation.

No doubt. The people who are calling the rest of the passengers cowards and saying, "My God! Why didn't anyone do anything?!" are infuriating me. The kid was likely long gone before anyone had a chance to do anything. For the people who did move to action, just getting everyone else off the bus without the killer taking more lives is a heroic enough action. Things could have been a lot worse (there were kids an elderly in close proximity to the killer). Trying to bumrush a madman with a rambo-sized hunting knife in such tight quarters indeed would be suicide.

I am, and if you saw me you probably wouldn't expect it out of me, so don't think I'm some macho-actionstar-whatever. Somebody could have hit this guy in the back of the head early on once or twice, gave the victim a fighting chance. At this point the attacker would have shifted his focus at the least, but probably been on the floor, and easily subdued. I feel sick that the victim's family has to think about their relative getting stabbed and having his corpse's head cut off.

I'd feel more confident doing such a thing if I felt other passengers had my back if the psycho turned on me. Otherwise ... I don't know what I'd do. I'd like to think I'd play the hero, but who knows in that situation.

I hate how there has to be a defense lawyer for every freaking criminal. Even if everyone knows damn well the killer is just cold blooded. But yet, the insanity plea usually works. WTH?! How can you be normal and then kill someone brutally and be labeled insane? I say it's cover up of your evil intentions and waiting until the time is right. I think those people should have burned the bus with him inside it.

I watched about the Unabomber the other day. This guy blew up people just because he felt like technology was stupid and didn't feel like making friends. He was a math genius. But he got the insanity plea. Yeah, a r****ded genius.

this is ridiculous, even for you. you're on a bus, you probably know one other person, its you and a bunch of strangers, you hear a scream, you look up and someone's head is rolling off, i'm not sure your first reaction is to round up the posse, but that's just me and common sense

It doesn't usually work. The first thing I was able to find on percentages in a quick Google search was from the Washington Post:

Thank you lord for the gift of giving me a car to transport to any destination if needed... I was going to take the greyhound once from Orlando to NYC, but as soon as I got to the terminal waiting for the bus, I had a bad feeling that this bus ride would be a death ride... Based on pure instincts, I got the f**ck outta there!!!!

The feeling I still have is I want to rip this a-hole apart with my bare hands. I still don't give a flying ***** what's wrong with him. I want him to die for his p***y actions. Can you go any lower than attacking/stabbing a sleeping person? They released the jerk-offs name. He is: Vince Weiguang Li of Edmonton, Alberta .

Also, it doesn't help that some other a-hole in Wisconsin comes out of the woods in camo and shoots 4 young persons (3 dead) who were just wanting to go swimming in a river. I hope they shoot that mother*****er dead, too.

The world is a sad, sad place.

Wisconsin Gunman Kills 3 Teens, Injures One While Swimming

    http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/08/01/wisconsin.shooting.ap/index.html

NIAGARA, Wisconsin (AP) -- A man wearing camouflage clothing and carrying an assault rifle walked out of the woods and shot four young people who had gathered at a river to go swimming, killing three of them and wounding one.

More than 100 law enforcement officers from at least 10 agencies searched Friday for the gunman, a middle-age man who was last seen near the town of Niagara, across the state line from Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Officers set up roadblocks and evacuated an unknown number of homes.

Nine young adults had gathered near a railroad bridge on the Menominee River when the gunman came out of the woods and opened fire about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, according to Sheriff Jim Kanikula.

Authorities have not determined a motive. The sheriff said there was no communication between the gunman and his victims.

The shooter was only 7 to 10 feet away from one victim when he fired, the sheriff said.

Two of the bodies had not been removed from the scene Friday because of a fear that the shooter was still in the area, the sheriff said.

The dead were identified as Tiffany Pohlson, 17; Anthony Spigarelli, 18; and Bryan Mort, 19. A fourth victim, 20-year-old Daniel Louis Gordon, was wounded.

Niagara is about 210 miles north of Milwaukee.

Because getting a gun in those countries is so hard almost impossible.
