I'll tell you what I did about it: I had to go to the feed store for cattle purposes a few days ago, and the sign on the front door said "all boots $50", they were trying to get rid of stuff so they could restock the small clothing section of the store...I said "well, hell" so I tried on a pair that were about a size too large, but I bought a $250 pair of fancy Ariats for $50 (this was my random impulse purchase Birthmas present to myself). I can wear a thick pair of socks as needed. These are close to them...haven't taken them out of the box since I tried them on, but look at the heels: I used to be 5'11", I might be 6'1" now!

People who earn their money don't have any shame in treating themselves. It's sad to see how poor America has become that $600 boots are seen as outrageous for a mayor's wife. She's no commie, her parents moved to an elite job market and did great work for two decades in Dubai. They broke their family's poverty cycle. They contributed to the economy big time and they were rewarded nicely. How can an American not appreciate a 'land of opportunity' success story like that? I wouldn't be worried about her. She's a down to earth person according to people who know her and she could totally afford to not be down to earth. Plus she's born in Houston how can you guys not have some support for her?
