and don't forget talent coming out of the wazoo! Steve may be The Franchise, but right now, Cuttino is The Man! ------------------ Only in America....do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries, and a diet coke.
Are you guys only NOW realizing Mobley is a go-to guy. I thought that was obvious some time ago! Missed that post by hp. Steve Smith debates will be saved for other threads I guess.. [This message has been edited by Oatdog (edited November 17, 2000).]
Sorry, HeyPee. Say, why didn't you post in F.D. Kahn's thread? I thought it was very interesting and relative to some other threads. ------------------
hey Moe, go ahead, this is a GO-TO thread anyhow. I was just voicing my opinion for having no interest talking about Portland, and their media-hyped "problem" of no clear team agreement on the go-to guy. about Khan's thread, I was in Boulder for 6 days on bizness and was in cc.net read-only mode during that time. good reading. plus, I missed both the Portland game and the Chicago game, so I had nothing fresh to add.
point guard's job is not only to pass. i think that as long as a pg is looking to make the right decision he is fine. if steve is penetrating and has a chance to lay it in or to pass of to thomas or cato, i would rather have steve take the shot because i trust him more than either one of them.
Francis is the Franchise and Cat is his left hand. These guys play very well together and I hate the fact that our fans are trying to compare the two. Let's just let them win games. BTW, very likely, in a year or two, Francis will be the best point guard in the game while guys like Kobe, Vince, Allen will still be there at 2 (nothing against the Cat). ------------------ against all odds
right on Arnel. They work together in contrast. Rather than comparing their contrasts against each other, we should be contrasting their comparisons in the league. How many guard tandems out there would you rather have?
heypartner, that was well said my friend, well said. What you said about having a lot of patience for Mobley, because you see fire in 'em and love for the game. That is why i have so much patience with Mobley and Francis, these two guys have so much flamin firey passion that it's almost seems silly sometimes( at least to f***** footbal sportswriters), but i respect that in 'em, they are a dying breed, and it seems almost impossible for them not to be there when all is said 'n done. BTW, Mobes is our go-to-guy, now, because another superstar-to-be passes him the ball. It'll take time, but if the world stays intac, i see something great brewing here in Rocketland. ------------------
speaking of f***** football sportwriters: has anyone seen how Fran is bored in Houston with no football so he writes the most worthless (and cliche'd) basketball commentary, when we really want to more Feigan!! Well, Fran did give us Choke City, I guess. So, we would never have ClutchCity without him. oops, I just went off-topic in my own thread. That's damn heypocrisy!
This league is about adjustments. I want to see if Mobes can adapt when teams start trying different strategies to kill the ISOs. I'll wait for a little more than 10 games to see who is the GO-TO guy(s). By the way, who is the GO-TO guy on the Clippers? Right now a GO-TO guy with a 5-5 record only means that the he can "GO-TO the lottery." ------------------ Respect Hakeem's legacy. A championship in the hand is worth two in the bush!!
Yes, Blineberry was the one i had in mind, i mistakenly put an s at the end of writer. BTW, Mobley is a hellova go-to-man. The greatest secound round drafted go-to-man ever to play the game. Mobley is just damn dependable, he starts from the top of the key an meooows on in for a lay-up when the defender is pawing him for a jump-shot, and then just when the defender gets to back peddlin' to prohibit a meoowing lay-up, Mobley in-turn purrs a jump-shot to keep em' on their toes, an then just when the opponent gets to barking figuring he has the Cat figured out, Mobes puts that which heypartner named 2-shakes(i seen that move with my own eyes, it its unstoppable) on 'em which leaves the oppeonnent so exasperate he had to exonorate(whatever the hell that Crisco kidd guy use to sig) and they suddenly become kitty-tized. ------------------ [This message has been edited by ROCKETBOOSTER (edited November 17, 2000).] [This message has been edited by ROCKETBOOSTER (edited November 17, 2000).]
LOL You must let that Cat out in the 4th Quarter every night or he'll start scratching the bench chairs.
just testing the new sig out thanks HP Great Thread. I would appear steve is quite content letting Cat be the go to guy and I love the way Cat's ability to create his own shot dramatially helps our second unit. ------------------ "It's incredible to see how he [Mobley] can beat his guy one-on-one every time. That is a tremendous talent. The combination of Steve and Cuttino, I think, is wonderful in the backcourt." --the Dream
I think if you put Mobley with a team where he was the #1 option he we would be a serious threat for a scoring title.
