Is it me or does Malick look huge in that pic? It seems like he's put on quite a bit of muscle and weight.

Thanks for the updates. Many of us here are hoping MB will turn into the shot-blocking, glass-pounding, open-shot-draining PF the Rockets so desparately need.

Article talks about us mainting his rights.

But for how long??? And what is it costing us. I'm pretty sure other teams know what we have out there.

Costs us nothing we maintain his rights forever to play in the NBA.

Think Sabonis and Portland, they held them for years before he was able to play.

It's a good thing too, because the Rockets will be holding out longer than Deepthroat did before Badigame can play (well).

If this a Malik Badiene post, there must be someone padding their post numbers on here whose quotes are limited but mostly ill.

Did he take your girlfriend/boyfriend? Did he make fun of you in school? Did he refuse to give you the right of way or something? Seems like you hate the guy more than I hate Dirk and at least I backed my hatred with some substantial evidence. Your hatred is just borderline idiocy.

Please fix the thread title. It's supposed to be "Malick Badiane?"

I'm saying he sucks and his numbers prove that. Those that claim otherwise have no substantial evidence to prove that he's going to be a good player. I say he's a scrub and he's got scrub numbers in Europe. I don't hate the guy, I could care less about him personally. If people can open threads slobbering all over the guy, I can offer up differing opinions too.

He only plays about 22 minutes a game. Those are pretty good numbers, especially points for the amount of time he is in. I think he can average 10 pt, 8 rebs, and 2 blocks easily...

Yeah, but hes playing against scrubs and hes averaging those numbers. So you know they are going to drop when he gets into the NBA. I still hope he can come in with the Rockets in a couple of years and contribute. But to think that he will be our savior at the 4 is kind of pushing it. If he becomes anything better than the 9th or 10th man I would be happy. But I just dont see him becoming anything more than a career bench warmer. Im just saying we shouldnt put this much hope on a second round pick.

The heck? Noone on this board (i hope) is seriously telling them to bring him in here to start. Noone expects him to be a starter, but a solid hustle bench guy who can rebound and block some shots. We don't need him to have monster stats because I'd expect him to play no more than 10-15 minutes if he were to come in next season. Looks like that's not likely, but if we drafted him, we might as well use him. The difference between him and chris anderson is that chris anderson is what he is, but will alittle hope malick could pan out and maybe surpass him offensively and defensivley. If malick turns out to be the second coming of chris anderson, I'd be happy. We know we won't get the showboating that some of you guys hate from the birdman, and according to all accounts we'd see the hustle that every team needs.

Yes he's a second rounder, but give the dude a chance. If you've never seen him play, please don't comment (about how much of a scrub he is) or run your mouth. I'm predicting he'll come over soon enough and provide us with some solid minutes.

ps. he's also 19 years old for christs sake.

Interesting points. Lets hope you are right about him. For some reason, I dont know why, but I just get a bad feeling about him.

I have yet to read that anyone thinks he'll be the second coming of Malone or Amare or the like. We have hopes that he can be a good role player and maybe even a backup 4. And with athleticism and the way Amare played against the Spurs, maybe we're being a tad bit optimistic. But what kind of fan wouldn't? We drafted the kid early (when he was like what 18?) and hope that he can learn, train and become a better player. No one annointed him as savior. The ones that says 'he's a scrub' etc etc...that's taking it a bit far. It's not like he was a 1st round pick. 2nd round picks are a crapshot anyways. And if Malick improves, we win because we have a potential PF. And if he doesn't, I bet no one in the Rockets organization would be GREATLY depressed. It's not like we wasted 3 first rounders on the guy.
