"Everybody's got their own indivisibles, but no one's better than anyone else, I don't think you should put people up on a pedicure!"
I would add in that your personal lexicon doesn't have that much to do with grammar. To me, grammar is just forming sentences correctly - not the words that you use.
Michael Scott is the king of the malaprop. My personal favorite: "Today I am headed over to the job fair at Valleyview high school to find some new interns. Get some fresh blood. Um, euthanize this place."
No, Michael Scott is the Vice President of Malapropisms. Archie Bunker is the President and CEO of Malapropism, Inc. You can easily write a book on his malapropisms: Archie Bunker's limited grasp of the English language resulted in a large number of now classic unintentional malapropisms during All In the Family's run (e.g. "vagrant disregard for the law", "the Pope is inflammable," "patience is a virgin," "you look like you seen a goat", "mental pause" in place of menopause)
Neither is the greatest... the Overlord of malapropisms is Norm Crosby. His entire career was built off of 'em! <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3oMDNc54eHw&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3oMDNc54eHw&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/VW1YKgeXAMI&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/VW1YKgeXAMI&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
I think somebody already mentioned it, but the best one I've seen on this board is "for all intensive purposes". lol. I must've stared at that laughing for about 5 minutes straight.
Lil Wayne: "safe sex is great sex, better wear a latex because you don't want that late text, that I think I'm late text" Not sure if this counts...
