Say no to Skinner, The guy is consistently injured, having played like two seasons in his career over 60 games....

I would take him for a vet min contract, nothing more. Not a bad 10th guy tp provide support to the back up 4 and 5 spot, but you would rather not have a Brian Skinner in your regular rotation.

Lawrence Roberts I think I would prefer to fill a spot like this (3rd team, vet min deal) because at least he is younger. Skinner is more of shot blocker, but worse offensively.

man we are really scraping the bottom of the barrel here. Wish we could just do a sign and trade and get a really good PF. Could you imagine Jermaine O'Neil here? lol

BTW..if the Suns can offer Marion for Garnett why can't we do something like that? If I were the Sun's I'd offer Raja Bell + Marion for Garnett and Mchale would be all over that.

I'm all for it. Skinner produced under Adelman when he got traded to the Kings for Webb. He plays defense, rebounds, blocks shots. Isn't that what we need next to Yao?

    http://www.nba.com/playerfile/brian_skinner/career_stats.html

Averaged 7.4 ppg, 8.7 rpg, 1.5 assists, 1 steal and 1.7 blocks in 27.8 minutes. Thats not bad. Better than what we have now.

wouldn't mind skinner the least bit. he's a under-hyped cato. not that that's a bad thing... these days anyway. that's what we need right now (since the rox org is forcing this "win now" thing on us). tough rebounder... put-backs here and there... sign him up.

not to mention that his aunt is my mom's best friend. :)

What people dont realize is that yao = 22pts (at least) tracy = 24 pts Mike = 15 points (with significant minutes) Bonzi = 14 points (same as mike) Shane = 10 points and Rafer = 10 pts. That's an average of 95 points from your top six guys. How much more scoring do you need? What you need is an offensive rebounder in there at all times to get you more opportunities. Chuck and Skinner would be an awesome two headed monster at the pf because you would get so much production out of the both of them combined. Imagine if they both get 6 points and 6 boards and .75 blocks that's 12 12 1 out of your pf spot which is pretty damn good considering what yao tracy and bonzi are gonna rebound at.

But even then he was by far their worst center/power forward.

-and was again the next year before being traded

And has been poor other places too.

The bottom line is if Brian Skinner is anything more than an emergency/end of the rotation player you are way too weak to compete for a deep run in the playoffs.

Vet min for depth and short term insurance is fine, but let's not fool ourselves.
