Any links or journal articles that can more elaborate on this?

Look man I know this is something that is probably widely known, but no reason to make fun of someone for it. The guy obviously does not know as much about the disease as you do. So you characterize his ignorance as stupidity. How about I drop some of my knowledge on cancers on you and then call you a ****ing dumbass for not knowing ****.

You would be surprised what kinds of questions that people ask their doctors. I can guarantee you that you have asked your doctor a question that has made him want to roll his eyes at you, but he/she has not done that due to the fact that you are not expected to know everything.

The problem with having sex with a chick with cancer, is there is a good chance she will be bald from all that chemotherapy. Then it would be kind of be like having sex with the guy from the 1995 movie Powder.

I really do not think that you can catch cancer even if you are immunosuppressed.

I will gladly search for cases later, but a prime example of this is transplant patients. If a transplant patient receives an organ with a tumor, they can contract cancer themselves. Transplant patients have a heavily compromised immune system because of the immunosurpressers and because they are in a weak state to begin with.

Wrong. She'll look like Natalie Portman from V for Vendetta, or Sinead O'Connor during her Pope-tearing best. Nothing wrong with that at all.

MDs correct me, but the link between HPV and cancer in men has not been ruled out. We still know next to nothing about what causes cancer.

If memory serves, another victim of an STD leading to cancer:

So, like most STDs, cancer = the hotness, even if it is catching.

Youre missing the point...the question is whether or not you'd get cancer from having sex with someone with cancer.

In your example, yes, having sex with someone that has HPV may result in cancer, but that is not what the OP stated. Cancer itself is not transmissable.

If you're having unprotected sex with someone with cervical cancer, and they got cervical cancer from HPV, by definition you face the risk of getting HPV. Ergo, you now have a cancer-causing agent in your system, which if it does not affect you may very well affect the next woman you sleep with.

I don't think there's as much of a distinction as you insist.

If memory serves, HPV/anal warts led to her cancer.

So yes, people, Hathaway can kill. Hathaway can kill.

LA Times: "What Farrah Fawcett can teach us about anal cancer"
[rquoter]Actress Farrah Fawcett lost her battle with anal cancer today at the age of 62. She was first diagnosed in 2006.

Anal cancer is one of those cancers no one likes to talk about because it's, well, anal cancer. But we really should discuss it as much as, say, cervical cancer. Both are predominately caused by the sexually transmitted human papillomavirus. In fact, a 2004 study of 6,000 anal cancer patients (the majority of whom were women) found that 73 percent of the patients tested positive for the strain HPV-16, one of the strains that the Gardasil vaccine protects against.

What's worrisome is that unlike cervical cancer, which has dropped dramatically since the advent of the Pap smear, anal cancer is on the rise. Incidence rates over the past 30 years have jumped by 78 percent in women and 160 percent in men, probably because more people now have more sexual partners and more people have anal sex (both among heterosexuals and gay men), says Lisa Johnson, a cancer epidemiologist at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle who led the 2004 study...[/rquoter]
However, let this not be an argument against properly administered Hathaway. Let it be another argument for, as it makes it that much more a dirty/taboo act.

Indeed. The face that launched a thousand men to sheepishly ask for Gardasil vaccinations.

Probably more unsafe for the cancer patient than you due to their compromised immune system.

Hereditary cancer is passed down from a parent to a child. Inheriting the gene mutation does not mean that person will develop cancer, but increases their risk factor.

During treatment, avoid pinching off the IV tube providing the chemo.

Wherein the "treatment" = dirty, dirty sex?

[This thread and the knowledge contained herein makes me want to try my game out at the MD Anderson cafeterias:

[rquoter]Narrator: Oh, yeah, Chloe... Chloe looked the way Meryl Streep's skeleton would look if you made it smile and walk around the party being extra nice to everybody.
Chloe: Well, I'm still here. But I don't know for how long. That's as much certainty as anyone can give me. But I've got some good news: I no longer have any fear of death. But... I am in a pretty lonely place. No one will have sex with me. I'm so close to the end, and all I want is to get laid for the last time. I have pornographic movies in my apartment, and lubricants, and amyl nitrite...
