Guess Ward is doing a great job backing up tony parker at the point in SA isnt he. If you dont know they have a minimum salary pg nobody backing him up. Theres lots of decent pgs in free agency this year that could be had for pretty cheap. Damon Jones, Brevin Knight, Mike James, Bob Sura and some others that are listed in the Bargain Free Agent thread. None of those guards would be long term solutions since they cant shoot the ball very well, but they know how to distibute and take care of the ball. FInding a permanant solution at PG is very hard and only the good teams have good pgs. Kings - Bibby Twolves - Cassel Lakers - Payton(not really, but when you have kobe it doesnt matter) Spurs - Parker Dallas - Nash Memphis - Williams Pacers - Tinsley Nets - Kidd Pistons - Billups Nuggets - Miller Francis is a good player, but not a good point guard, as are all the other combo guards(Davis, Marbary, Crawford) You dont find many good point guards on lottery teams. So it seems you need a good point guard to run your team and we dont have a good one in terms of playing smart, BBall IQ, protecting the ball, composure ....
