Eh, sorry...I didn't mean the "yeah, I suppose" negatively. I was agreeing. Carroll's in our heads or something. Too much talent and too good of coaching to lose that handily three times in a row.
I've already said that Mack isn't the only reason why we've been so much better lately, but he's definitely a big part of it and not just a recruiter like you've said. Maybe you'd like to find out how many NCs Pete Carroll won w/o 2 Heisman winners named Leinart and Bush (arguably 2 of the best college players the last 20+ years). I'm not trying to take anything away from Carroll, but it takes an entire program to win, not just talent. You're also acting like it's the easiest thing in the world to win a conference title. Kind of hard to win the Big12 South when you have an OU team that went to 3 straight NCs along with you, as well as a Nebraska team that was dominating as well. Maybe you'd like to find out how many NCs Pete Carroll won w/o 2 Heisman winners named Leinart and Bush (arguably 2 of the best college players the last 20+ years). I'm not trying to take anything away from Carroll, but it takes an entire program to win, not just talent. As for OU, they were the premier team in the early 2000s. I think everyone will agree (even us Horns) that those OU teams were a lot better than us at the time, the only 2 teams to beat them the last 3 seasons (not including this one) were USC and LSU in the championship game, I'm not going to put the knock on Brown since the only teams to beat OU were National Champs. Oh well, I'm sure none of this is going to change your mind, but hopefully things will change after Wednesday.
I'm not sure about the spreads for the other games but so far it's not looking too good for you, my friend.
I have absolutely no clue why I voted for USC by less than 10. Just one of those weird gut feelings....
Dude, I have NO BUSINESS in here, but uhhhh... since you were smart enough to be SmArT ALeCkY about your "I said 2 fumbles, not lost" response, and then that there is a "loss of down on each one", I have to wonder: If I am an offensive player and I am running with the ball whether after a catch or a run, and I get a first down with the ball, then fumble, then recover, or lose the ball then recover it PAST the first down marker, how is that a loss of down?
I went to neither UT nor UH, but UT is no Rice and UT is not in the Ivy League. Some people from UT need to stop thinking that they are in the Ivy League and need to stop talking down to other schools.
No. However, if they did, there would at least be some sense of credibility. Making the Ivy League is an accomplishment and an accolade. Gaining admission to UT is not. Academically, it is not even the best school in the state.
[sarcasm]Cool. I'll add it to my resume. [/sarcasm] Sigh. It never ceases to amaze me how UT's academic record comes up in every UT sports thread without fail. This thread is about the Rose Bowl. And UT is without question the best football school in the state (and baseball and basketball for that matter). T-minus 19 hours. It should be a good game.
M.I.T. isn't even the best school in Massachusetts, but it's still a good school. As Nike put it, this is a RoseBowl thread, not an argument of who has better academic standards. BTW Jackfruit, what school did you attend?
I went to Cornell (Ivy League), and I'm currently at UT for grad school. Do I meet the requirements for talking down to other schools now? Thanks in advance.
