Exposure, he got us on national TV. That’s all the revenue Fertitta wants. This is about money to him.

He got another year left after this coming season. We're not losing him for nothing, he's worth more as an expiring contract in the following season.

In '26-'27, it's a done deal. We're going to get shafted on any deal to move KD, and we'll also signal that we're not competing anymore. -- this season is not good to tank.

I also highly doubt that 1. KD wants to go back to GSW, 2. GSW wants to give us a pick in ANY deal when they're so much better than us at drafting & developing talent.

I also vehemently hate GSW, I don't want anything to do with them.

OKC needing to duck the luxury tax is one reason I could see this being a possibility.

OKC needs to decline the team option on Hartentstein before this deal so they are allowed to aggregate contracts and Houston would need to get Tari settled first.

KD+Adams+2027 pick + 2029 pick for Chet and Lu Dort.

Saves them about $1.5 million in year 1 and more down the line. I still don't think OKC will blow it up.

It would be better to tank in other years, but if the Rockets trade KD, they should tank their way to getting a couple more ping pong balls.

We should keep KD and go for a championship if Wemby, SGA, KAT, Luka, Cade, Lebron, and Steph have career ending injuries this off-season.

Wemby and SGA are unlikely going away anytime soon.

The single best argument is the owner is not going to move KD unless he wants out this offseason.

He's still the best shooter on the planet.

As long as you don't overload him and ask him to play point guard, you get what you paid for.
    He'll give you 25+ a night on 50-40-88 splits.

Steph Curry is the best shooteron the planet. KD is old and slow ad all he does is score. Rockets thought they were getting a mature leader as well as a scorer not the god of texts. Not what they paid for.

The Rockets never thought they were getting a mature leader.

He produced efficient buckets while constantly doubled team and blitzed. He earned his money.

I will just disagree. Thats a highly rosey picture painted. He is a glorified shooter. Cant pass out of double teams. Is the superstar but cant be a mature leader at 40. I dont know that I saw anything that said the Rockets dont think KD can be a leader. In fact pretty sure stone called him one in one of his stupid interviews. Like everything with KD you have to rewrite history and ignore facts to make things rosey with him. His positive is that he can shoot. Thats it. I would expect more from a "superstar".

Best Argument: he couldn't be any worse a teammate than he was this year.

Worst Argument: he couldn't be any worse a teammate than he was this year.

And that's a pretty doomer picture painted.

We needed a scorer and we got a HOF one at the twilight of his career. He took a paycut to resign a two year extension and was the only all nba player the Rockets had.

He's definitely a d*ck. We can agree to disagree about the rest though.

What does the totality of his career have to do with what we needed. He's a HOF so the fck what? lol We didnt just need a scorer we needed a mature leader and if not that atleast a guy thats not gonna provide chmistry issues. Which when we got him I was told he would not add BUT NOW its like "How could you not expect that yeah of course he's a dick but he scores" its a cop out.

i wish that’s how people talk about KD. if they did, his trade value would be high and i would totally be convinced we should trade him.
