Bibby at the same price is nothing more than a slight upgrade over Alston. Bibby at his real price is not even close to being the right choice.

Most people blames VSpan when he makes those kind of passes and players can not handle a good pass. A lot of VSpan turnovers were of this type.

got that right Vspan has turned it over maybe ~5 times all year from his own mistake the other TO's were his teammates not catching the ball when its in the number.
i think its more of an adjustment for the team to be ready to catch the ball when hes playing because he passes alot of times without making eye contact, which IMO is great.

I would prefer Brevin Knight for this team (high assists, high steals, low TOs)

Brevin Knight cant hit 3's. Yeah great choice. Bibby is a perfrect PG for our team. He can hit 3's, and is clutch like crazy. Just been bad this year. Their offense doesnt suit his skills. ISO artest and hope for the best is not something I would do.

Bibby sucks.. seriously.. this season alone i saw him jacked up at least 10 airballs..from like 4 games i saw Kings play... his shots are off,he's small, rafer made him look bad in the games rox played against him..
i think we should get Marko Jaric.. he's cheap, he's big, he's a low turnover guy, he also is a decent shooter, dont mention the better entry pass from his height..

seriously.. our backcourt can't get smaller... I mean if we want keep Head, we need bigger guard to play with him... Alston is small already...
In the playoffs, Small means theres always a Hand in your face no matter what..

I don't really care who we get as long as we get a PG upgrade before the trade deadline.

so if all you want a 3pt shooter at the 1 then why not start luther?

there is more to that possition that 3pt%.

for example, sam cassell is only shooting 31% from 3. he's not even getting a steal per game. he's only getting 5 APG. he's not quick enough to guard anyone. i'll tell you what though, everyone in houston would still take him starting over rafer.

vet guys that know how to play basketball are valuable. brevin knight can't hit 3's, but he can hit 2's. how many of those does rafer miss per night? yes he's small but he's one of the best on-ball defenders in the league.

bibby would be a great fit for us, but not at this price, and not with his stats for the year. a smarter option would be chucky atkins or damon stoudamire.

Why the hell can't they just play Spanoulis already? It's obvious he's better than Alston, yet he doesn't even rate over Lucas to JVG.

Management knows he's better that's why they brought him over in the first place.

I would love to have Bibby or Knight. Bibby is having a bad year, but I think it mainly has to do with not being happy in Sacramento and having a cancer like Artest to deal with.

we do need a backup PG no doubt, just not sure if we need and can replace alston. i think alston is good at what he does in the beginning of any games, when he is still has fresh legs and hands. But, JVG need to stop using him in cruch time since we got tmac as play maker.

We don't need him for that. Luther Head has that covered. All we need is a second decision maker off the bench. I'm not against Bibby in any way. Only that it's not possible with his monster contract.

I think Bibby would fit this team fine, but his contract is out of control. I think that the guard play last night was a blessing in disguise. I don't see how CD/Morey could have watched that game and walked away feeling comfortable with our PG situation especially come playoff time. And that is regardless of having Yao in the lineup. It's obvious we need a backup PG and I would be shocked if they don't at least get a guy like Jason Hart for a pick.

My dream would be for Sam Cassell to come back to Houston. The Clips are only about a game out, but they're not the same team. I think if they trade Maggette then they'll be looking to next year already. After all, Donald Sterling is a fickle owner and I wouldn't be surprised if Cassell became available. Bonzi/Sura/Spanioulis and a pick for Cassell, man that would be awesome. A man can dream, can't he!

    PG - Cassell/Alston
    SG - McGrady/Head
    SF - Battier/Snyder
    PF - Howard/Hayes
    C - Yao/Mutumbo

Not so much of a stretch.

No one mentions Andre Miller, but I don't know why not. Some posters are in love with the idea of our PG shooting 3's, and that would be great; but I would prefer what Miller brings to the table: tough D, great passing. And he can hit mid-range shots. He wouldn't be jacking up hopeless floaters (*cough* RAFER! *cough* RAFER!) but would instead actually drive to the basket.

His post passing to Yao (when he returns) would be superlative. Anyone remember how Andre would lob to Martin and Camby and Melo?

Send Rafer and Bonzi to Miami, send Posey and Sura's expiring contracts (and maybe a 1st rounder, but I don't know) to Philly, and we get Andre Miller (and maybe Wayne Simien from Miami).

Otherwise, we just keep Rafer please-don't-touch-me-when-I-get-into-the-paint-let-me-just-toss-up-a-B.S. floater-and-hope-Deke-dunks it Alston and get bounced in the first round.

At least we give ourselves a better chance in the playoffs with a real PG on the team. Rafer's OK, but he has shoelaces where his brains should be.

We are in dire need of another point guard. Rafer is ok for 20 m/g or so as long as he doesn't shoot too much.

But he has no business on the floor making decisions at the end of games.

I would love in a scenario involving Miller and Simien could somehow come to fruition. Simien could be a solid rotation big to take over for Juwan in the near future.
