    Great points.

Shaq will probably kick the bejeezus out of Yao the first few times they meet, and it will mean nothing.

Even if shagfool came out ahead during their regular meeting , that didn't mean SQUAT! the kid is barely a ROOKIE....i woudn't be so proud if i were shag even if i completely demolished yao the first few games...but next year ,shag should be afraid ,very afraid when yao has more things figured out about this league...i am sure the kid gonna hit the weight hard this summer (from what his father said in other posts),by then it's over shag....yao has to reach his hands down your throat to pull the basketball out whn he accidently slams on your face...peace!!!

    Rockets Red Glare,

Roberts actually had a little drug problem, thus his exit from the league.

Yea, like rezdawg said, "Roberts talking trash?? LOL" What a loser!

If Stanley Roberts is talking smack about the buffet restauraunts, ok, *then*, I'll listen. Otherwise...go smoke a bowl and eat some more gravy. Thanks.

i think rockets should put cato and yao on the floor same time at that game, cato can do the "hack" job, and yao can just focus on offensive game, and try to get fouls on shaq.

Who cares what Shaq or Yao does when they first meet. Once Shaq's bones finally start to crumble under all that weight, this will be Yao's league.

Please never mention anything Stanley Roberts has ever said on this site again. The guy is a bust, if the both were so great together, they would have at least two NCAA championships with Chris Jackson.

the rockets don't need to worry about playing the lakers really. The have plenty of different ways they can play shaq and i'm sure that they will fine one that works.

they can let them man up and see how ming does.

they can double him and see how the lakers are shooting.

i think kelvin cato has always played good against shaq. With Ming in they can always bring in a fresh cato if and when ming gets tired.

But ming will hurt shaq by making him play defense. Now that people are attacking him the league is finding out that the lakers arn't the strong team they once were. I wouldn't put it past them to come back and play like a championship team, but until then they are going to have to change or they might even miss out on the playoffs

The only thing Stanley Roberts is going to be breaking down anytime soon is the fat content of a 3 cheesburgers.

I think Yao might suprise a lot people when he faces Shaq.
Shaq can talk all the trash he wants with his servants ( Stanley and Salley). I don't think it would affect Yao Ming. I see the pressure is on Shaq more than Yao. Everybody expects him to drop 50/20 on the rookie. Whatever the outcome when Yao faces Shaq. It'll be a valuable learning experience for Yao to grow. Yao's demeanor tells me that he is not afraid of Shaq. Remember the look Yao had when the Rockets played the Mavs, Spurs and all the important games on national TV? Yao is 22 and he already has five advantages over Shaq, maturity, intelligence, age, skill and class. Yao lacks only experience and strength. Those will come with time. When Yao get stronger and Shaq can no longer bully Yao then Shaq is not the only one who should worry about Yao. The future belongs to Yao.

Much has been made about Shaquille O'Neal and yourself. What do you think playing against him will be like? David Aldridge, ESPN

"I think it will be one-sided in my matchup against Shaquille O'Neal. He is much better than I at this point. I think the NBA is a very good classroom for me. I think I will learn from defeat and from my setbacks and it will set a foundation for me to improve in the future."

Commmenting on his match-up with Shaquille O'Neal on 11/17/02

"Every problem has to be faced. That's going to be a very important game for me. I'm not going to be looking at it as a normal game. I'm going to look at it as a more important game."

I haven't heard Yao "call out" shaq before, its the reporters who ask Yao about Shaq and Yao keeps saying "Shaq is better then him". I just don't see how that is called "calling out". If some one asks Yao about Shaq, its the reporter whos bringing up Shaq not Yao.

Anyhow, as much as I love Yao, I have to admit hes gonna get demolished by Shaq. it's 370-390 lb (most of it muscle) and Yao versus 300 (mainly bone and skin). Yao already gets pushed out easily by the likes of Grant and Kandi, I'd hate to see Shaq man handle Yao.

    heres my predictions

    Shaq 35pts, 12 rebs, 3 asst. 3 fouls

    Yao 10 pts, 4 rebs, 5 asst, 5 fouls

    I am not sure about the trash talk thing - I still feel Shaq has some respect for Yao. See below;

Sane, what about Yao at the FT line? How about adding 9-10?

    That would be 21pts.

    You know Shaq will hack-a-Yao.

I'm still a big shaq fan because he plays like a big man is suppose to play hoops, but when guys like Roberts start talking trash, now I have a problem. People who scrutinize Shaq for his size and what not need to look no further than the "other" guy talking trash. Here was a guy in Roberts that was just as big, just as strong and considered a better prospect than shaq and look what happened. There have been guys who have had the same gifts as Shaq but hasn't been nearly as dominant as him. With all that said and as much as i like Ming, he's still the 2nd best center in the league, but at least he's not scared and will compete to make Shaq play defense on him. Anytime you can make one of the most dominant players go and watch tape, you've won half the battle.

I don't care how many points Ming scores as long as the Rockets win the game, but seeing how he competes, he's almost a write in for 15pts ,10-12 rebs and a couple of assist. If he attacks Shaq early, it could be very interesting. We still need to find a way to slow down #8.

Um, no he isn't. If he is then he is either violating his drug suspension or it has been lifted.
