The only way paper news publications will be around is if all of them severely downsize and become smaller, somewhat niche. A lot of people would still subscribe, and possibly pay a higher price to receive their news in paper form.
my girlfriend used to work there and she (and by extension i) have a lot of friends still working there.
Man, real sorry to hear about the layoffs. So if all the newspapers fall, then all the news stops coming (according to The Cat), does that mean the market will require someone to step up and create a new FOR PAY system to get us the news again...i.e. how it probably should have been done initially? Would it even have worked initially?
Just what I was thinking. UH and Rice are getting the shaft and balls from the Chronicle yet again. I don't think anyone in my lifetime has put as much time and effort into covering the Cougars as Murphy. The man was a hero to us diehards. Luckily he's a quality blogger with a nice Internet resume and I'm sure he'll be okay. Now who'll talk up Case Keenum for Heisman.
someone had to lighten it up. i worked as an intern at the chronicle in the summer of 1994. i don't know who would still be there since then that i worked alongside...but there were some really nice people there. i hope they're all doing well, today.
i had it typed out and then felt bad for poking fun at a nine year-old, so i deleted it and went with 'golf clap'.
