Were u raised by 2 homosexuals?

    No.

Then gtfo saying that it is BS. The only person I know raised by homosexual parents happened to end up being very well adjusted, and successful.

Sorry to hear about your friend’s experience. As I said, I know several kids raised by gay people and they are happy, living very fulfilling lives. It'd be sad if you based your opinion off of one bad experience.

I know, i shouldn't judge everything off of 1 thing. Sorry for the trouble.

I'm glad I have 2 great parents, male and female. And I pray everyone can have that chance.

    It's cool!

And yes, you're right. The best case is having two loving people to care for you. We all hope for a mom and dad but sometimes life doesn't deal us those cards.

Love is love, no matter what gender it is.

No, in fact it's nowhere close to being the same thing. Nice attempt to rationalize it. For a wide swath of the population, gay marriage goes completely against their religion, whereas the civil rights movement is very much in stride with their religion.

The fact that you feel the ban on gays marrying is unjust and bigoted is your OPINION. Don't try to pass it off as fact.

For a wide swath of the population, premarital sex goes completely against their religion. Good thing our laws are not supposed to be dictated by what sits well with any religion. This is a step in the right direction.

I honestly don't think you can easily lump the gay marriage issue in with the civil rights movement.

Marriage used to be a Church matter.

Why not just make government unions all the same for straight or gays and keep the matters separate.

    That would solve the problem.

But would the RR allow marriage to be removed from government?

America prides itself on equal rights. The anti-gay marriage sentiment simply goes completely against those principles.

"Completely against" is a little too strong in language, IMO.

    * Jesus says nothing about same-sex behavior.
    * The Jewish prophets are silent about homosexuality.
    * Only six or seven of the Bible's one million verses refer to same-sex behavior in any way -- and none of these verses refer to homosexual orientation as it's understood today.

All men are allowed to marry women. Equal rights, sweetie

Why don't I have the right to marry my dog? Or my pet rock?

It allows them to keep their "church sanctioned" marriage.

    seems like a decent compromise.

Aren't matters of religion supposed to be kept out of the state anyway?

The Bible is quite strong in excoriating homosexual acts and it always refers to marriage as between a man and a woman. These facts would cause a man of even modest intellect to deduce that God is not in favor of gay marriage.
