Isn't Malone under contract for another 3 years or so? But didn't Barkley, after Phoenix lost to Houston, say that the Rockets were the better team both years they lost to them? Malone took petty shots at Hakeems anemia problem, and his ego is out of control. You saw what happened when we got Pippen. Besides, I just don't see how Malone fits in with this team.

Malone has family in Houston which is why he might have been included on that list in the first place.

Cato for Malone? Do you make the deal? I vote yes.

No way do we get Malone.
    1. His skills are on the decline

    2. He's not going to produce the same numbers without Stockton getting him the ball

    3. Signing him will delay our youth movement by another 2 years and give Utah a big boost in their own rebuilding process

    4. Let's not forget what a S.O.B this guy is if he has any sense he'll try to force his way to LA

Cato would be happy to play with his role model.

As much as I dislike Malone and Stockton,I never would want them or anyone else to get hurt, but I sure enjoy to see them and the rest of the Utah Jazz lose.Malone and Stockton may be skillful players but they are the biggest thugs in the league with their elbowing, cheap shots, bear hugs, flopping and illegal moving picks.I NEVER want to see either one of them on the Rockets.

You forgot to mention that they get the calls from the refs also. Everyone's been saying how we need an enforcer down low that can rebound, play tough "D", & score. Sounds to me like Malone would be the answer to all those needs. At least he would be OUR cheap shot artist.

For those that still want revenge against Malone, we could bench him & let Bull start ahead of him. That way Bull would be a Superstar & Malone would be a bench warmer. I'd bet that Bull would enjoy that. [IMG]

I say take him. At least he has more heart than Webber and we all know he can run the break with the best of them. And when the mailman's contract expires in two years then we would have cap room for Duncan.

Dude all I have to say is to hell with Rogaine!!! Besides he would never leave his S & M partner Alfalfa in Utah all by his lonesome.

FYI, NBA Talk & BSkball.com and all of those other rumor sites blow alot of smoke out of their asses. I dont think they have ever predicted one correct Rocket rumor.

since we are talking about malone in a rockets uni why dont we give cato an even bigger contract, change the uniforms to pink and purple pocadots, trade francis and mobley for spud webb (no disrespect webb) and hire calvin murphy to be the coach.

While this has been voiced already by many of you, I have to say it as well.

If Karl Malone comes to the Rockets, I will not be a Rockets fan throughout the duration of his stay. I CANNOT cheer for this man. I don't care how much sense it makes or even if it makes the team better. I CANNOT even fathom such an idea.

Two words describe that source of info BS. Not only would we not want Karl, but he will never play anywhere else but the Jazz.

This is an important point that needed to be made. Malone is good, but I would say a good quarter of his points came on plays that were run by Stockton, who, despite my hatred towards him as well, is still one of the best playmakers in the game. Francis is good, but he can't run the PnR even half as good as Stockton, and that would hurt us. Malone might score close to 20 a game, but he would get frustrated dealing with players who can't dish out the ball as well as ol' Pasty, and he might start playing worse.

I just don't think it is worth the risk, I would rather make a gamble on a young Taylor, if we can't get C-Web.

karl can play, he busts his ass, and motivates his team (ostertag is the only exception) everyone who plays with him likes him. i mean, the goal is to win. 'sides, no matter what he pulls on the court, he is a respecful man who never gets into any trouble off the court. all who say they don't want him on their team is missing the point.

Malone is a good player, yes, and the type of player we need, yes, but no I wouldn't want him a Rocket.

He's also the type of dirty, underhanded player that I never like seeing in a Rockets uniform and that belongs with teams like the Jazz - and, in some cases, their fans.

Malone could get the ball in the post, blow out the defender's brains with a hunting rifle and Jazz fans would be looking for the defensive foul call.

Watching him as a Rocket would be very, very tough to do.
