That's pretty much beat for beat what is going to happen. The only question is who is going to be the Dem nominee, but like he said, it doesn't matter. If Trump runs 2024 is guaranteed to be a more dire and consequential repeat of 2020.
The Donald will be 78-79 by then. Having said that, once a man reaches the age of 77 years old, his life expectancy is over a decade. The point being, he has a real chance to run in 2024... he has access to the very best doctor's and while his diet is poor, he is active and engaged. He has a very good chance of being the nominee in 2024 and there is almost nothing that can curtail his run from a scandal standpoint.
I'm with him up to the contest of the election results. At that point, really hard to predict what will happen.
Either out or double down. It'll get volatile. But even tragedies for democracy can sometimes be good for shareholders.
It really doesn't even have to be Trump in 2024.... the important part is changing the rules in battleground states where Democrats are trending upward so that anyone can play that card. It would be naive to think only Trump would do such thing. The infrastructure to change results is being put into place and the media propaganda has been spewing in order to get enough people to go along with it.
There certainly are other people that are capable, but I would not assume that they would have the cult of personality that Trump has. He has the ability to be successful in his efforts more than most people. Without Trump available the outcome may well change.
True, but the infrastructure is being put into place in the right places and the narrative has taken hold about Democrats election steal. It could merely be used at the state level.
The key is Kevin McCarthy. If he's speaker of the House I bet right now 100 dollars to the tip jar that he tries like hell to call a vote under the 12th amendment in the House after just one state refuses to certify or sends a second set of electors. VP Harris will have a role to play here in overseeing that process but her role is limited. She cannot force the House to vote even if the Senate already voted. I always said that come January 6 of 2021, Nancy Pelosi was the key to holding up the vote in the House if a state, or states refused to send their electors which it was kind of surprising Arizona and Georgia didn't do so although you bet you a$$ they will this time. Even then Trump still tried, and failed because Pence, McConnell, and Pelosi controlled the cert process. So at least we know that Harris will be there to play some role. If it's McConnell, and McCarthy though then I feel pretty certain that even if she fights it, the delay that McCarthy can create in taking the vote further validates his ability constitutionally being able to claim 12th amendment rights for the House to vote on a state by state basis to overturn the election to Trump.
There is one straightforward way to short-circuit this slow-moving train wreck: Dems run Dwayne Johnson at the top of the ticket in 2024. He would win so many states that no goofiness could stand. I'm not kidding, by the way. People want celebrity, charisma (in its various forms), and a tough attitude. I would put him on the campaign trail with his Walking Tall persona, out to save small town America with a 4x4. Hell, Trump might avoid running if The Rock entered the fray sooner than later.
This is the understated part of this. If Georgia's SoS or Arizona's governor hadn't stood up to Trump in defense of their state elections, we could have had Constitutional chaos this last time around. And the crazies are now running to replace people like Georgia's SoS with people who'd be more willing to do crazy. Combine that with some loony Trump judges (he appointed a lot of not-qualified people) making some crazy decisions and there won't be faith in either the legislative or judicial systems.
