Dwight Howard is the franchise. When he developes in the next 2 years, they are contenders.

Credit where credit is due? I have no problem with that. My issue is with the brand new Orlando Magic fans who want to give all of the credit to Francis and totally ignore:

    * the miraculous resurrection of a sure HOF'er in Grant Hill.
    * the reappearance of Pat Garrity who played a whopping 22 minutes last season.
    * the #1 overall draft pick.
    * the unliklely good fortune of Jameer Nelson falling to a #20 pick.
    * the signing of playoff hardened Hedo Turkoglu.
    * the lack of quality centers in the EC making Kelvin Cato a near All Star.

It's true and my apologies. I don't at all care for the way Francis plays basketball. I just find it majorly irritating that he continues to get deified for dunking a basketball while it is totally ignored that players like Steve Nash and Leandro Barbosa continue to eat his lunch.

    sTeve-O....I kind of like that....

    Gater,

you're a smart poster but you're not some kind of basketball savant because you think Grant Hill is a large part of the Magic's success. I think everyone on who made predictions at the begining of the season believed that if Hill was healthy it would be a huge beneft to Steve's game. People also knew that if Howard was a contributor that they would be a good team this year.

But Steve Francis is still probably the best player on that team so just give credit where credits due, and quit saying that the negativity is unbearable in the GARM forum while coming in here and trying to find some way to hate on Francis.

I doubt much Magic fans gave all the credits to Francis.... its obvious the Magic is doing well bcos of Francis, Hill & Howard.... with Cato coming up big b4 getting injured again as well..... and Cat and Hedo being streaky as they are.....

but the hatred that u have towards Francis is a little overboard...

    Points taken. But for perspective....

If I had search engine functionalty, I could produce multiple posts where I was in a very small minority wanting Hill to be included with McGrady. Francis may be the Magics' best player. I won't argue that with you at all. Especially not this early in the season. But it's worth noting that ORL is +6.6 with Hill on the court and +1.8 with SF. And Hill is usually the one making the open court decisions. Hill is the unsung glue that deserves a lot more credit than most fans will give him credit for.

As far as being negative about Francis, I have gone out of my way to keep silent since the trade and I've done a very good job of it. Reading posts about amazing slam dunks in a losing effort caused me to have flashbacks.

Forgive the temporary lack of judgement. I'll be quiet and bite my tongue again. But remember that I do watch ORL games...just for different reasons than you......:D
