no doubt. LOL, perfect description. the AP article needs to open up like that. edit: damn, i'm almost at 5,000. the 4000s went fast.
go to mixmakers.net and it's under the Basketball Clips board. The title is Steve Francis Monster dunk. I think you need to register to view.
the lost is not francis fault.... he is the one reason magic was in the game.... they lost bcos of rebounds.... 21 offensive board for lakers r not going to make it..... with such a bad rebounding night, i wonder y JD sits Howard for such a long period of time
When one is totally focused on high-flying dunks and points scored, it's easy to miss some things. This recap from within this thread should help refresh your memory.... stoty_teller - the ball didn't just "slip out of his hand". Rather than make a safe and fundamentally sound play on an easy 2-1 fastbreak, Francis was getting ready to try something spectacular. And his 4Q defense on Tierre Brown ought to get Tierre on the All Star ballot. Unlike you, I've seen this all before. I never made a prediction. I only cautioned all of you new Orlando Magic fans not to be so impressed because they're not a very good road team. If you're impressed by them being 3-2 on the road since NY, then you have a much higher opinion of the Knicks, Jazz and Golden State than I do. http://bbs2.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=87641 Perhaps we should revisit whether they are a good road team after they finish the stretch I listed? My only Orlando "prediction" was that they would be the EC 7th seed and go out in the first round. I made that before the Artest fiasco which depleted the Pacers. Under the current seeding structure, ORL has to win their division or they are 4th seed or lower. If they don't finish ahead of MIA, then they could easily be battling the Wizards for #4 and could play them in the 1st round if they wind up finishing 4 & 5. Unlike you, I place a good portion of the Magics' success on Grant Hill. If he goes down, they are in big trouble.
I am impressed with them beating Dallas, the Lakers, and Utah at home with AK, and beating the teams they should beat on the road, including one of those without Hill.
GATER aka Mr. Impartiality yes, the ball did just slip. at best, all i could tell francis was going to do was get the ball on his right hand palm facing turkoglu and flip it back to him for a layup, except the ball never even got to his hands b/c he lost it before that. perhaps that's a spectacular move now but it seems pretty normal to me. i guess it could have been an underhanded toss to hedo but that still has no less chance of coming out of his hands on the dribble before he passed it. since it was luke walton back, he probably just should've added him to the collection of posters but nonetheless the ball just slipped. and i'm not sure why you keep saying they're such a terrible road team. i thought they were after about 3 road games but as it turns out, even with the loss last night, they're still one of only 9 teams with an above .500 road record. since i don't think the rest of the league lines up to play san antonio, dallas, sacramento, and minnesota for every single road game, i'll assume they had their shots at the utah's, gsw's, and new york's (who were on a 6 game home win streak) of the world and still have crappy road records. as for the stretch you listed, they'll have played 14 road games and 11 home games at that point (5 games to go) and presumably it's the most brutal stretch of their season, after which things should be easier. it's not rocket science to predict this stretch could hurt them a little, much like people attribute our bad record to a tough early schedule. as for hill, he's obviously hugely important, but he wasn't in the game for the 4th Q against utah and that was a tie game the magic pulled out and he didn't play against GSW and the magic won, and now they lost to the lakers in a game in which hill played. and all of those were already without cato and they've already played other games without 2 starters (when mobley and cato were down) and they're still doing well and steve is playing well. i realize you'd like to see francis play badly and the magic struggle so you can claim francis sucks, but maybe you should wait until that's actually happening before you try to gloat about it.
The Magic fans are not disspointed with Stevie at all. In fact they love what he brings. They just realized that he is not a pure point guard (something we in Houston knew years ago). I was just replying the other fellow BBSer who was sarcastically trying to imply that Steve is now a true PG.
Magic will be in trouble if Grant Hill goes down..... I wonder.... doesn't the same applies to Francis? If Francis goes down, Magic goes as well..... give the players credit where its due.... dun just take it away from them bcos u dun like a player....
It seems Steve doesn't want to be known as Stevie Franchise anymore, he wants to be called Steve-O. Either he's a Jackass/Wild Boyz fan or the O stands for Orlando.
