With the T-wolves falling apart for the win tonight that brings the Rockets # to 8 for the worst record.
Out of curiosity, has there ever been a team with the worst record that had a win streak like the Rockets had early in the season?
We don't need to shoot for the worst record. We only need to be one of the three worst teams. We are now 4 games ahead of #4 Orlando. The magic number is 5. We lose 5 more games in the remaining 8 games, we are in for the best lottery odds.
I agree. Statistically 1-3 have the same odds. But over the past 2 years the worst team in the league did nothing worse than land the #3 pick in the draft (compared to the second worst team getting the #5 before)... so if there is another cosmic situation out there besides ping pong ball odds then I'm rooting for the worst record just in case. Never has the worst team in the league picked outside of the top #3 in the NBA draft (not counting giving the pick away) And you are right... After this loss to the Knicks it is at 5 now
If we keep our pick and Minny drops outside the top 3 to number 4 selection, I would call GSW and offer up Wood and our Portland and Milwaukee picks for Wisemen and the Minny pick that goes to GSW if outside the top 3 . Curry want to win now so they need nba ready talent to surround hi with not rookies who need time to develop. use Minny pick and hopefully draft Mobley and our pick to draft whatever bets available guard( Cunningham, Suggs or Green. Would try to resign Olynyk since we lost Wood and start him with Mobley. only then Would consider packaging picks to trade Wall. I’d instantly call up okc and offer up wall and a FRP’s for Horford. Horford is better for the rebuild phase because he’s jsut a better veteran than Wall. He doesn’t care about being the franchise player and is willing to come off the bench. No ego there.
The last month we win 1 game, lose 5, win 1, lose 5, win 1. based on the trend, we’re on pace to win our next game against the Trailblazers
Yep, lulz and one big difference that our resident Magic# tracker (@jayfree ?) must remember is lottery position does not have tiebreakers, like playoff positions. It’s a coin flip to break ties.
5 games to get it outright without a tie-breaker needed. We have 16 wins, Detroit has 19. We have 7 games left meaning we can lose 5 games and still have the worst record.
Oh, I thought we were doing Magic# to get in bottom three. and with Minny playing ORL and DET one more time, guaranteed wins for someone, I think we can lose 3 (win 20 total) so, Magic# is 3 for Top 3 lotto position. Is that correct?
The number is now at 3 for the worst record in the league (and 2 for the bottom 3). We literally went 5-40 down the stretch. How did we ever win 5?
its seems that the worst record ends up getting #5 pick in the draft more times than anything.. something doesnt seem right with that tankathon website
Green Suggs and Cade are all about equally interesting to me Hard to get excited about Mobley as a big in today's game, his shoulders look pretty narrow, his legs are very thin, he doesn't have the quickness or ball-handling that would differentiate him into a Jonathan Isaac or Giannis type.
If we win 5 in a row, and everyone else loses, there is a possibility of a 6 team tie for worst record. [edit] Min still plays DET and ORL, so someone has to win. If DET beats Min, and Min beats ORL, and no other wins by any teams, a five game win streak by the Rockets leaves HOU, DET, MIN, CLE, ORL and OKC all with 21 wins ... for coin flip tiebreaker.
