That is true but Magic wont take him without extension, and they are really looking to blow it up instead of staying mediocore. They want young players, expiring contract, and picks, all of which the Rockets can offer while taking on one or two of their bad contracts. They cannot deal directly with LA and would still have to go through Houston or Cleveland. I dont think Morey would offer the same for Bynum as he would for Howard. So it would be pretty tough for Magic to get good value for him if they send him to the Lakers.

But until he is signed to an extension or agrees to one with the Magic he has no value to them. And the Lakers could still only do a straight-up swap. And Orlando also loses the ability to send out some bad contracts, too.

The Lakers gave up second round picks in 2013 & 2014 and first round picks in 2013 & 2015 for Steve Nash who is actually signed for the next three years. The Toronto pick alone is worth more than that package. And the Rockets can give additional picks, a young player, and is willing to take some salary back. So unless Bynum signs an extension, the Lakers do nothing for Orlando.

But Bynum is not equal to Howard, that's my point! If LA get Howard, they better send some more assets (which they don't have) and/or take some bad contracts. No way they could get Howard for Bynum straight up. That's highway robbery.

WRONG. Kobe refused to play for Charlotte which is why he was traded to Lakers. He wanted L.A.

Hennigan was rejected twice in two weeks by Howard.

True. In case some skipped over it.

What Kobe wanted is irrelivant. Charlotte made the pick for LA, as they had a deal worked out. For all intense and purpose, LA drafted Kobe. Let's put this one to rest.

koby's agent warned all teams picking before charlotte that his client wouldn't play for any of them if they dared try to draft him

He is built like a dinosaur. Huge body with powerful limbs but a miniature brain. Why the hell did he opt in? It would have been all over. What a d!ckhe@d.

So did Yi; so did Rubio. It's irrelevant. Whether a team takes a chance and drafts him, or a team has another team draft for them; it's basically the same thing IMO

They still get what they want, so it's not irrelevant.

Completely agree. Now we get to see if the new CBA does what it's supposed to do.

The more Dwight's camp threatens the less I believe them. It's just a desperate bluff, plain and simple.

Hennigan should have traded Dwight at or before the draft to the Rox when he had the chance. Now, he has no leverage and will have to settle just so his team can move forward.

If we do trade for Dwight the most telling time will be right after the trade deadline ends and he's still a Rocket. If he says "I will consider re-signing with the Rockets in the offseason" we'll know we won. If he stays silent or keeps making threats he might walk.

I think getting Bynum, getting a bad contract off the books, and a pick would be a good fall-back option for Orlando. Maybe they find a way to incentivize a third team to add the pick, and facilitate. Logic dictates that Bynum will resign with the team who can pay him the most money. It's not like he's got a Dwight shoe-contract.

Bynum's no Dwight, but if they find a third team to facilitate...
