How is that tanking? If this team does that it's a team on the rise not mediocrity... Mediocrity would be true if we kept the talent on this squad from last year. This year only Martin has more than 3 years of experience.

Last chance Hennigan. Take Lamb, and Martin + picks and send back Howard and Hedo

losing Lee, Lowry, Dragic, Scola, Dalembert, and Camby, but gaining Lin and Asik, plus rookies = top 10 pick.

Well, for one season I would rather have Martin than Lamb playing with Howard. If healthy Martin can be a scoring machine. Having Howard in the paint erases a lot of defensive lapses. But I imagine that the news has just not hit that Lamb is signed.

We could make the move anyway. Only that would me made official by September. I think there are no NBA games from now to September.

Trading for Dwight at the deadline is even riskier than it is now. At least Dwight would open up the season in Houston, get to know the players, might even start winning, etc than coming over at the deadline with only a month or two to get a feel for Houston.

If Howard isn't here to be in our All-Star game I don't want him. He'll basically be an extreme rental on a team that by then will be one of the 5 worst teams in the NBA.

    Good let them keep him.

I'd rather not give up Parsons, Lamb or Donuts and I'm sure those are the players Orlando would want.

I'm with you. Would much rather spend a year watching young players develop knowing we'll have cap space and two probable lotto picks in 2013 draft than endure a huge soap opera all season long. I don't have a whole lot of respect for Howard.

This is kind of like 2010, when Yao was out and everybody in the media thought we were going to win 20 games or something, and we ended up over .500 We're not anywhere close to some of the truly bad teams in the league. Compare us to last year's squad. Lin's performance last year was comparable to Dragic or Lowry. Whoever replaces Scola will be worse on offense and better on defense. Asik will be better than Dalembert and Camby. With another season under their belts, Martin will probably produce a little less and Parsons will probably produce a little more.

Sure, our bench is mostly rookies and they won't be as solid as Bud and Lee were, but the delta is not that great. We've got a slightly-worse team with a lot more upside. We'll probably win in the high 30's.

We won't win many road games. I voted 25-30 wins in the other thread.

then again this could have been a ploy by Morey to have rockets fans on their feet again and as usual come empty out of it...
We seen this so many times... Oh so close but no cigar :(

In all likelihood, if we hold onto our picks, we're looking at two mid-lotto picks next year; maybe even better if we get lucky with the ping pong balls.

We're fine with that. A young team. Tank time. Add a FA to a couple of more lottery picks

dont understand why it would make you sick... Lamb had a very good summerleague, Parsons is a good player, and D-Mo looks like he will be a decent player.. But do you really think anyone of them will become Dwight howard or a superstar.. how many years have we gone through hoping for a draft pick to become a star.. If you have a chance to land a superstart you do it no matter what it cost, and if at the end of the day he leaves, then we re-build but atleast you had the chance to obtain him..

    just my opinion...
