The players don't feel that way at all. The coaches don't feel that way either. There is such a thing as pride and when you haven't won a division since 1994 you don't scoff at the symbolic and real meaning of winning it. It sends a message that the Spur's rule is over. I would say that means absolutely something. Oh, and I am so tired of people worrying about where the Jazz will end up. Let's squander a division championship to effect some team at the bottom of the playoff standings. If that isn't a loser's mentality, I don't know what is.
Yeah, I want the division title. We haven't even finished 2nd since '97. It'd be nice to have a banner in the Toyota Center that hadn't been in the Compaq Center/Summit.
I know the title means nothing, like I said in my last post I would like to see us win it just because I hate the Spurs. But having the 2nd or 3rd seed means a hell of alot more than the 5th seed. I'd take my chances playing either Dallas, NO, or Utah in the first round over advancing as the 5th seed and playing LA in the second round
I never paid attention but do they hang banners for winning the division or just conference and NBA titles?
I thought I had heard one of the players say we didn't have banners for division titles, but I just found this:
^^^^^ That's what I was referring to. They don't have separate banners but they have one banner that lists all the division championships. My question is, would we change the logo on the banner? It hasn't been an issue since we haven't won the division or conference since we changed logos/unis.
i was already working on it to post in this thread but yours will probably be more accurate. so ill free up my next hour or so by waiting for you to post it!
It's pretty much written. Just waiting on the Spurs game to be finished, and I'll have it up a few minutes later.
who has tiebreak between Denver and Blazer? if Blazer wins, will they take over the Division Title? I think Laker will lose next game, there is no points they want to face Jazz in first round. So, that put us on tough place for the next game since we play Mav first. So we have no control who we play with. Unless we give up the last, which would lost HCA, We will very much play Jazz again.
So assuming Portland does beat Denver @ Portland (which I think there is a 90%+ chance of happening): if the Rockets win @ Dallas on Wednesday: (a) If Utah loses tomorow @ LA, we will draw Dallas. (B) If Utah wins tomorrow @ LA, we will play Utah. If the Rockets lose @ Dallas on Wednesday, we will play Portland without WCA. Is this right?
Not mathematically, but realistically they did. Denver's not gonna lose at home to the Kings. The only way Portland could win the NW is if Denver finishes 0-2 and the Blazers finish 2-0.
