And I think Morey is smart in not taking too many, if any, bad contracts back. If Dwight leaves, even in a s&t, then we need room to rebuild. Getting saddled with bad contracts on a rebuild is a time killer (we'd have to wait them out). And the only hope of Dwight staying is to sign him on some new max buddies (Paul?). So I completely understand and agree with Morey on this one - not that it matters.
I agree. My point was that it does not look like Lopez is that super attractive to Orlando as does the extra salary dumps of J-Rich.
They really don't have terrible contracts. Their worst contracts are MLE deals with Glen Davis and less for Jason Richardson. I think Morey could get out of those bad deals rather quickly, see: Ariza, Trevor.
During the radio interview this morning Morey was talking about the Rockets always having to overpay. Maybe the Magic want the Rockets to overpay? The recent report suggest Morey is telling the Magic to pick out who they want meaning he doesn't want to give them who they want, plus picks AND take back bad contracts. Morey knows whatever he is offering is better than what the Nets can offer, but the Magic still want to dump salary on the Rockets. That would be a bad move considering we become the Magic if Dwight decides to leave. Morey's always been about maintaining cap flexibility.
At this point, I'm wondering if the Lakers and Rockets both backed out because the Magic were being way too demanding in what they wanted. So now, because both of the teams that could offer the best packages backed away, Orlando is forced to bring them back to the table by floating this garbage rumor about the deal nearing completion with New Jersey. However, if I'm Morey, I'm looking at that offer and saying, "Seriously? That's the best the Nets will give you?? Ok, have fun with that." Nothing about that offer would motivate me to increase my bid for Dwight. Either that, or the Russian offered his boat full of hoes to Hennigan for the rest of the summer if he gets the deal done.
Alex Kennedy @AlexKennedyNBA It sounds like the Magic, Nets and Cavaliers have found a fourth team to facilitate their potential blockbuster deal.
Correction: It sounds like David Stern and Dwight's agent have successfully bribed a fourth team to facilitate the blockbuster deal.
Doubtful. Morey isn't likely to facilitate this trade, and at best I could see us giving up the Mavs pick or our our 2015 pick (lotto protected).

If it is I'm going to throw up. Probably on the clutchfans server and put this site out of its misery
They aren't taking back bad contracts. They are getting one year of Kris Humpries and a bunch of small scrubs with nothing contracts.
