I really doubt this rumor is true (about Orl and CP3) However I would totally take on Okafor's contract if it meant receiving CP3... .... Rockets receive: Chris Paul Emeka Okafor NO Hornets receive: Shane Battier (Expiring contract) Jared Jeffries (Expiring contract) Aaron Brooks Patrick Patterson (2010 Draft|14th pick ) NY 2011 swap picks(Possible Lottery) *(this would trump anything Orlando could offer) .... Roster 2010/2011 PG Chris Paul | Kyle Lowry SG Kevin Martin | Jermaine Taylor SF Trevor Ariza | Chase Budinger PF Luis Scola | Jordan Hill | David Andersen C Yao Ming | Emeka Okafor | Chuck Hayes --RB
People may not notice with all the crazy stuff going on, but NO is no longer in immediate need to dump salaries. They dumped Mo Pete's salary by giving the 11th pick (Aldrich) in exchange for 2 late 1st rounder. So, they are now under the tax limit and has time to let the sale of the franchise figure itself out and also determine what to do with their roster.
whats it matter? Duncan, KG and Pau are "power forwards" but are 3 of the best big men in basketball. they can play "center"
I understand that, but the media report in the initial post of this thread is still disappointing. I don't know who the NBA sources are for David Pingalore, but it is interesting that nobody involved did a walk through of the proposal - situation to determine what is going to be required of the Magic for them to be able to place Okafor with a third team. If the NBA sources were correct and that plugged into what Orlando was trying to do, then that reflects poorly on the Magic Front Office that thought it would be a fairly easy and pain free trade to complete.
