OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!! Chris paul would make the Magic LEGIT, Dwight howard would become twice as effective on offense, rashard lewis would turn into peja.

The basketball fan in me wants this to happen sooo bad!!

The Lebron James fan in me is wishing this doesnt happen!!

paul has had injury issues and the hornets have been doing there best to down play them. Collins great play gives them the out they need get rid of paul while he still has great value.

Can't see NO deal Paul without lumping a bad contract with him.

They should just throw in Lewis and take Okafor. Too lazy to check if this will work though.

Wasn't the point of New Orleans dumping Paul to get rid of their dumb contracts?

Its dumping Paul AND Okafor. If a third team can take Okafor, according to the article. The Okafor contract is HEFTY, didnt think it was that bad. Around $13 mil a year the next 4 years

I don't think so either. The only thing I see is that VC's contract is expiring. But the Hornets have to get some serious draft picks, a better player than Jameer Nelson and dump some salary if they give up CP3.

How would they take this deal over something like

Brooks, Hill and a first rounder (which I would have to think we would offer)

We can beat that deal if we want to. Send them back our expirings, Battier, Jeffries, Andersen, and Hayes, plus throw in Brooks. They get less salary, can probably buy out a couple of those guys and save some more money, and get a budget replacement. Actually we could do this deal without sending Brooks, since they have Colllison. They would probably prefer to get Hill instead of Brooks since they already have a point in Collison. This would allow them to have Collison and Hill as young cheap talent. They could then flip David West for another expiring and draft picks or a young stud. We may be able to get by with sending out Ariza in lieu of Battier.

That would be an interesting combination though and would lead to another trade involving Brooks or a sign and trade involving Lowry.

    CP3/whoever
    Kevin Martin/Budinger/Taylor
    Ariza/Budinger
    Yao/Okafor
    Scola/Patterson
    FA?

They would. Shinn literally can't keep the team above water financially. They've been borrowing big dollars the last couple of years and can't pay those contracts.

What I'd like to know is where Orlando reroutes Okafor and for what consideration.

Add picks to entice them to bite and say Hell yeah...
