Look - if the Rockets had gotten McGrady 5 years ago the Yao/Mac era would of been a completely different story. Mac just isn't himself anymore and Yao is getting injured yearly from playing so many minutes.
Explain to me what you're optimistic about. Sure the rockets miss free throws and blew point blank layups, but they only lost by six points. I would have more respect for Tmac if he had came up big in the fourth and we loss. This would show we have a true warrior. What good is it to have your superstar play good some parts of the game, but not the part that's winning time.
Yea McGrady was simply amazing but that 9 for 22 cant be directly pin pointed to the loss look at all the free throws the team missed.
The guy who did not play up to his A game was Scola not including the offensive foul that led to the game tieing 3 pointer that was called off. This game was not on T-Mac that is fact.
I agree. He was great in the 1st, hitting jumpers, attacking the basket, dunking, etc. But you just can't complain when guy plays 43 minutes and does everything for your team and is tired at the end of the game.
TMac vs. the Utah Jazz is painful to watch. I feel for TMac and I respect him more than ever. Put any other player in the league including Chris Paul, Kevin Garnett, Kobe Bryant, and Lebron James in Tracy's place and you still don't beat Utah. No one person can carry our supporting cast with Yao out.
And Hakeem had a whole bunch of playoff games where he shot .333, or series where he averaged less than .400. T-Mac doesn't deserve a lot of hate, but let's not delude ourselves into thinking his teammates are scrubs. They're not.
this is really easy to say when you are in front of a tv. when you are on the court and facing double and triple teams for 3 quarters it is really hard come the fourth. I have been there before beyond high school and college. He has faced this for a whole season so that makes it that much harder. Before you hate and say whatever the dumb**** that you think you may want to play the game and i am not talking about jr. high nor high school, hell i just went over seas and played and saw that it was harder than college ball. the competition gets harder, faster, and stronger at each level. tracy having to create everything for everybody for an entire season is hard believe it or not, promise you could not do his job.
I know comparing LeBron and TMac really isn't fair. LBJ is The future star of this game. I am making a comparision b/c I feel like LBJ doesn't have much around him, just like TMac doesn't on this injured team playing right now. I'm really comparing the teams in their current makeups. I remember LeBron not being able to avoid a sweep by the Spurs. Our team has shown we can for the most part dominate the east. We are in the West, and it's tough. I don't think you'll find that if you swap out #1 with #23 that there will be much of a difference this year. I was relieved to hear someone else besides myself to not dump it all on Tracy, and to hear Magic and Barkley of all people to give TMac props and tell people to open up their eyes and stop being stupid basically. Does it sting any less? Nope. Does it suck any less that we just have a crappy situation with no Rafer, no Yao, no Francis, etc. A lot of things didn't happen as planned this year. I'm usually an optimist when it comes to the Rockets, but last night (and most of this season) I'm very frustrated with Scola's play. I don't like it that he misses a lot of layups and afterwards, chases down the PG to try and make one of his 3-4 steals all season on a PG, while his man makes an immediate cut to the cup. So the other 4 guys on D have to cover for him, and guess what? Yup, either Scola is fouling or the opposing team has a layup/dunk. Scola getting a steal is the exception to that situation. It's these little things not on a stat sheet that frustrate me. Extending an arm as an illegal pick when you just can't do that...use your body, don't use your arms. Stop arguing every call, you just don't have that kind of clout. Well, there's my rant.
