And look how successful he was. Actually he went to join Grant Hill. I think he is well aware he can't carry a team himself.

But the first important step IMO is for Orlando to NOT get the first pick in the draft. If they get the first pick (25% chance) then they can take Okefor which might be enough to make TMac happy and stay. I think a highschooler won't cut it for him as TMac knows it will probably take 2-3 if ever for him to make an impact.

I think he has learned that dominating the ball won't win him anything. He desperately wants another star on his team now.

I agree with you on Jefferson, but I don't think McGrady is that player.

McGrady averaged 32ppg with 5 assists. Yes, he made the playoffs. No system will make a player look THAT good.

Like I said, McGrady is better than Steve and better than Cuttino. A McGrady/Lue backcourt is much better suited, and don't take more shots than Steve and Cuttino combined.

What is it that Steve or Cuttino can do which T-Mac can't?

With Yao behind him, McGrady will be able to work real magic. With the attention Yao gets, McGrady will absolutely eat up the defenses, and he's very well suited for a JVG system. He's like an ultra version of Latrell Sprewell.

I will take back my statement about him leaving Toronto. It was said in kind of heated moment in my thoughts. As you can see in my other thread i did mention Grant Hill as being one of the reasons.

If you would like me to stand before a firing squad i will.

Quite frankly, I don't really give a damn about T-Mac being a ball-hogger, even if it is true. Kobe hogs the ball, yet the Lakers thrive quite fine.

The main difference betwen T-Mac and Francis is ABILITY. T-Mac can score at an efficient level, while making his teammates better in the process. Francis shoots a horrible %, while directing an offense with tons of turnovers. T-Mac is simply a better player. That's why he'll make this team into a contender. Whether or not he jacks up 20 shots every game is not a big deal.

Kobe also runs in a triangle offense which is nothing like we run here. Being a ball hog in that system is allowed becuase it's meant for really for inside out. T-Mac doesn't run that in Orlando. They are more run and gun if anything, letting him create.

I do not disagree with the level of talent. I would rather bring in someone that will fit the system with talent.

You know something. Screw the system.

If you can get T-Mac and Yao on the same team, you scrap the system, and create a new one.

If JVG doesn't like it, he can take off.

With the kind of money we can make from a Yao/McGrady combo, we can afford to pay off the last 3 years of JVG's contract.

Yao/McGardy next season can easily stand up to Shaq/Kobe.

If they need the triangle, then run the triangle.

You couldn't be moer wrong abotu the triangle though. It does not allow a ball-hog. It is quite frankly the exact opposite. Theoretically, I believe, the triangle is built so that all 5 players contribute equally.

It's when a ball-hog is able to manipulate the triangle system is when it becomes unbeatable. Kind of like the Matrix.

Okay Sane now i agree with you =)

The system i was talking about is what we have now. If T-Mac is lured here or anyone with his caliber then we find ourselves a coach that matches up. :D

Forums are like conversations, except they are written. Anyone should be able to say "Opps, forgot about that!" Just like in real life. No need for any disciplinary action.

Anyone know when the ping-pong balls are revealed? I think its toward the end of May. From looking at the mock drafts on nbadraft.net Okafor is the only "experienced" player in the top 5

Yeah, no offense to JVG, i do like him. But if we get TMac and JVG frowns even a lil more than he usually does, we should get rid of him.

For those who think tmac is selfish and a ball hog need to watch him more. He is the scoring leader because nobody else on the magic can score and he needs to carry the load. He is no jordan and no perimeter player will ever be able to carry his team in this day and age.

Why does he want to opt out of his contract? To WIN. Im pretty sure tmac knows that if hogs the ball and jacks up 25 shots a night his team is not going to win.

With our offense right now we have too many players that require the ball to be effective, SF, Yao, Cat(not so much anymore), MoT and JJ in a sense. If we trim it down to just tmac and yao or just SF and Yao I bet our offense would run alot smoother.

Sorry for digging up an old thread, but...

Remember the last time when the Orlando Magic had a star with a bad back wanting out and hired a young first time NBA GM?

    One can only hope...

People are quick to point out Shaq went to LA, but if the Rockets get Dwight, this will be twice in a row that we took Orlando's franchise player.

We can hope for a couple of first round exits and a team in the same position as it is currently 8 years from now? I hope... not.

Its funny how alot of the comments states the same question Howard faces today: Why would TMAC or Howard want to play in Houston? We got one down, can we get the other?

I hope so, but this time we don't have a 7'6 Chinese player with a lot of potential.:(

Juwan Howard was the real centerpiece of that trade.
