I agree. T-Mac is going to pick where he goes and Magic will try to get as much as possible from the team. How about a Kobe/T-Mac trade??
Arghhhh... I didn't think of this. This would be perfect for the Lakers so this would suck big time!!!!!!!!!
OK, I'm thinking on the go here. Kobe would never resign in Orlando so Orlando would only have him for a year. SF is still a better option for Orlando and they might be able to confince him to come to Houston instead. Could get interesting.
I was thinking the same thing, but Kobe gets to pick where he wants to go also- it would be a S&T, right?... Would you agree to go to the Magic, who suck bad and have no room to spend to improve? Depends on how colossal his ego really is, I guess. But I'd guess Kobe was gonna agree to be S&T to a crappy team, it would be somewhere like Philly instead- at least he has ties there. Hell, I'd bet he'd agree to a S&T to Houston before going to Orlando. Not that I'd want him.
This could be the craziest summer in the history of NBA with VC, T-Mac, Kobe, AI, PP, C-web and SF all can be had under right deal. Not to mention Dallas would possibly be on sale once they fail to past first round and Wow... Unbelievable.
I don't think Kobe is going to Philly at all. Billy King just announced that they will not deal AI, and everyone knows that Kobe and AI wouldn't work. And the fact that Philly, the City of Brotherly Love, booed Kobe at the All-Star game, that hurts. Kobe will either go to LA Clippers, Memphis, or Denver, go figure.
Carrol Dawson needs to come through on this one and save his job. He needs to trow evrything we have at orlando(-yao). With a Yao / T-Mac combo the role players will fall in place.!!!!
Orlando would be crazy to do this. They trade away a top 3 player in T-Mac and Okafor that has a chance to be one of the best. And it doesn't help their cap space at all, it may even hurt them.
Not to toot my own horn, but i said this months ago, before the trading deadline. Even though i knew it wouldn't happen at the trade deadline, i knew adter the season it could happen. The Rockets as i said all along probably will have to take Hill, but what if Hill comes back and be Penny. Imagine Jackson maybe coming off the bench for Hill and McGrady. The iq of the team would skyrocket and the team would instantly win more close ball games.
I think that it's really unwise to trade away Francis at this point for he only played under van Gundy for only one year. Give him some time to ajust under the new system, I feel that he can actually become a much better point guard than we all think. Now, we can trade cat+cato+whoever except Yao and Mo for Tracy Mac and go out there to get a power forward.
I dont think orlando will take Francis and Cat for tmac. Orlando is rebuilding and what they want is cheap and talented. The only way I see Orlando trading us tmac is if Boki has a breakout performance in the playoffs or next season and we ship him with SF. We might also have to throw in some draft picks for orlando to bite. SF and CAt could work if we threw in multiple first round draft picks, which we are low on.
How about McGrady, Lue, Howard for Francis,Mobley,Cato? DD, no WAY the Magic will move McGrady AND their #1 pick (top3). If the Magic move McGrady then they are basically saying they are starting over and will be counting heavily on their #1 pick as a HUGE building block of the future.
I think that Francis + TE might be enough. The only other near-equal talent on the board is AI. Kobe isn't gonna stay in Orlando if traded. None of the other all-star level players in the West are touchable. I also don't see Orlando trading with the East. If Francis goes East, his game will go to the next level. We get McGrady, and suddenly we're a decent PF away from becoming the Lakers. Hell, you could play Cat or JJ at the 1 and still dominate.
Francis(10m),Mobley(5.5m),Cato(6.0m),Pike(2.5m),and 6.9te for McGrady(14.5m),Hill(14.5m),Lue(1.5m),and Hunter(1m). What they get is a center in Cato, a pg and sg in Mobley and Francis and that way they can draft one of the high schoolers. With Francis and Mobley, they have enough talent to get in the playoffs in the east while still developing the youngster. The Rockets get ready to win now and for the next few yrs. We get a superstar who will appreciate playing with another solid star in the making in Ming, Lue is the steady defensive harrasing pg who will not to the ball ,but is use to feeding the big man and making open shots. Hunter is the live body/shot blocker to play along side ming for maybe weakside support, and Hill is the contract they want to move. Maybe he comes back and gives the rockets 25 minutes a night, but either way , he's a quality player when healthy. Thios helps both teams. I would even throw in a future pick, because chances are, McgRady would get here and probably resign. For those who don't think there are enough shots. The combination i put together takes 35shots per and the rockets sent off takes the same amount shots. I think its a win/win and at July 1st, they should blow up the magics phone.
No way do you trade good players for a guy who can opt out after next year. That is about as smart as the Posey trade. We would have to win it all next year in order to keep him, and even then, he woudl probably want to opt out depending whther cap numbers give him a bigger "max".... Now, if orlando would take Boki and JJ for him, well, that IS a different story.....
Amazing how our garbage become other's jewels. Orlando already mention that they want to free up some money, why would they take on SF & Cat & Cato? The TE isn't something that is going to push that line-up over the top. So many here have mentioned in practically every thread that the SF & Cat combo have not netted us even 1 play-off appearance in 4 years, why should Orlando expect it to happen for them? Yes, the Least is weaker, but with TMac they are last, how is SF + Cat that much better? IMHO, SF & Cat are only attractive to teams that are 1 or 2 players away from contention, which Orlando is not. What I see Orlando wanting in return are young hot talents and high draft picks, which Houston have neither. Even with his recent play, Boki has not shown enough to make any GM drool over. If we get TMac, there is no reason to believe our #1 picks will be any higher than the low 20's (which are practically worthless). I think Chicago has a much better chance of getting TMac than us.
If we took on Hill..... I might not be a rockets fan anymore. we still have to sign Yao in a couple...
why would orlando do this? I like Steve but McGrady is TOP 5 in the league QUESTION: McGrady for YAO? Would you do it? DaDa would say no . . because of tall talent I would at least think about it. Rocket RIver not saying I would do it .. . not by a long shot . . but it would make me pause
