No, but he and brand are tight from way back plus he had his best stats of his career there. Baylor also drafted him. In the nba the salary basement is 37 m I think, so it kinda helps both teams via s&t. Lakers may be tired of the inconsistent play of Odom and no one besides Kobe who can attack the basket and play the wing. It makes too much sense.
Maggette definitely fits the bill.If and I know some believe it to be a big IF he stays healthy CM provides much needed athleticism and the ability to score in a myriad of ways....good d and hits the boards hard...It took awhile languishing on the good ship Lollypop but Corey's finally starting to live up to that pedigree.Sign this guy up ASAP.
It has been said before. He is a great individual scorer. In an intricate offensive system, will he be able to fit in?
Like I said earlier, 10m and get to play for the conference champs or 8m and a team that hasn't won a playoff series in 11 yrs. I do think the lure of no state income tax is a factor, but if u were maggette, what would u do?
for all the talk of Maggette, is their actually any evidence suggesting Morey or anyone for that matter in the Rockets organisation has shown any interest in his acquisition?
Realistically it will be very difficult for the Rockets to get Maggette, though he would be that third scorer that the Rockets badly need. He is also good friends with Kobe, he may pursue the Lakers as well as other championship caliber teams.
They didn't make the playoffs, but that team was getting better. Odom,Brand,Miller was going to be the new combo, but Odom sgned with Miami and Miller was traded for Darius Miles which made no sense. I think for some reason Odom is going back to play with Brand.
Sign and trade Maggette for 38 million, 4 years. We give them Carl Landry and Jackson's expiring contract. Yay or nay?
Your absolutely right. I meant to write Maggette and NOT Landry. I would prefer Maggette over Landry 6 days a week and twice on Sundays.
People don't understand expiring contracts don't work with sign-and-trades. Why would they want an expiring contract if Maggette's contract is already 'expired'?
The Rockets don't need someone that isn't going to start....they should upgrade someone at the PG or PF position. Getting Sphegetti is a waste of time.
Somehow I doubt he or many other NBA players would opt out a contract for a lower pay. That may only happens at the end of one's career. So, what can we offer in a sign and trade?
