That is a good question. As I said earlier it is somewhat arbitrary. I would say a 10% increase 4 years later would be pretty sizable and could have election consequences. I don’t know the figure, but what did GWB draw? What if the Democrats nominate an African American? Would any gains in the AA community be off set by new young voters entering the pool? Will Trump lose some white female support? Trump isn’t conventional and the 2020 election isn’t going to be conventional either.

I will say this, I know some Mexican voters that on the down low support Trump. It is odd because when I talk to them about it, they tell me that immigrant Hispanics make all long term American Hispanics look bad and cost Mexican Americans opportunities and jobs. They freely admit they were on the other side 40-60 years ago. People have the right to vote for who they want and I am not really judgmental but I will say I was a bit surprised until my ex (my wife’s best friend) said it comes down to economics and status and Trump helps them. I don’t agree with it, but I can’t fault them; they just want to be socially mobile.

I know legal Bangladeshis who also hate illegal Bangladeshis and usually those people don't have much self awareness. They are the same people born into a fortunate situation in their overall poor country where they had access to the best private schools in their country and had an opportunity to to legally migrate here through H1B or student visas. 98% of people from my parent's country don't have that opportunity. These people don't understand that there are separate lines in these countries.
