Im in Fort Collins and the city has free busses (tax paid, free at point of service). No idea if it’s a good idea / economically worth it, but it’s being done.
Clutchfans is a privately owned company. He can operate and manage his brand however he wants to. He also can listen to the feedback of his users/customers or not. That’s not woke communism or whatever you are trying to make it out to be. That’s called free market enterprise. Something conservatives used to champion, but I guess now you want to remove the ability for small business owners to make independent decisions and instead obey the state and its ideology of its dear leader? Because if I understand your concern correctly it’s that a small business owner should not be allowed to hear feedback from their customers because it could be seen as disapproving of the head of states ideology.
Actually your comment was directly about Clutch/mods. Should users like HP3 be allowed to give their feedback about offensive content on their site or not out of fear of the ideological positions of the head of state. In a free enterprise customers are always free to voice their feedback and business owners are allowed to operated how they choose as long as laws are not broken. In an authoritarian state, customers can give their feedback to business owners but business owners have to ensure they ideologically do not fall out of line with the dear leader. So if you believe in free speech and free enterprise, you should be encouraging user/customer feedback and the business owner to have the freedom to listen, and change/not change. If you believe Clutch should not listen to feedback that doesn’t align ideologically to the state (ie “woke” policies of removing racist content) then that’s the definition of authoritarianism destroying free market enterprise and free market capitalism.
Not sure what you mean by 'your side.' Right now, the federal government is the one limiting what people can say based on words they don’t like. Federal Government's Growing Banned Words List Is Chilling Act of Censorship - PEN America
You dont know how to read at all. It wasnt even a long post and you understood none of it. I made no claims people shouldnt be allowed to to give feedback or report others.
I understand what you said better than you did, and you were the one who said it. You made that comment that it was somehow a negative for there to be a feedback/response from a customer and small business owner. I'm just pointing out that if you think Clutch/mods need to ignore feedback because it does not align with the ideology of the head of state, the that would be the opposite of what free market capitalist Republicans have believed for decades.
False. I mocked someone for reporting an opinion they dont like. English is definately not your first language.
So you don't believe in a decentralized government structure with agency independence? I mean NASA alone employs nearly 19K people. Should NASA not be able to operate as it's own entity, and write it's own research papers, press releases, etc.? Under the White House's new rules, NASA, cannot even release a press statement or a research paper with the words "SOLAR POWERED" in it unless Trump and his inner circle approve of it first. That's pretty Totalitarian, and should be concerning if you are a Republican who believes in small government/Reaganism. Arguing that the White House should be allowed to censor ALL departments of the federal government down to the words they use is the definition of Totalitarianism. I guess I'm just curious, and would like to seek to understand why you believe we are better off with a totalitarian government?
Maybe you don’t understand what censorship really is. Censorship is the suppression or restriction of speech and information by an authority based on the content, ideas, or viewpoints it finds objectionable. Even removing information from government websites IS censorship - when the gov eliminates HIV resources, climate science, or public health information from sites citizens rely on (and our tax dollars paid for over decades), that's suppressing information based on political preferences. But this goes far beyond "just websites." According to PEN America, these word bans are: Affecting scientific research proposals and grant applications Causing scientists to self-censor to get federal funding Removing terms like "safe drinking water" and "cancer moonshot" from programs Flagging topics recently mentioned in Congress for extra scrutiny Eliminating HIV resources from the CDC regardless of content When the gov controls the language researchers, universities, and contractors can use to receive federal funding, that’s more than websites. It’s using financial leverage to control speech across academia and the private sector. The chilling effect is real. Scientists are changing their language not for science, but to avoid political penalties. That’s textbook censorship.
South side of Houston... so yeah probably not proper English. I didn't get the education you probably got up in the Woodlands or down in Friendswood.
You are the cathy newman meme. Just completely ignoring what was said and make up something in your head.
So I guess I am confused. Do you believe that NASA should have the ability to use whatever words they want to in their research and public releases without approval from the Trump White House? You just said this verbatim: The US government picking what words are on their own government website is not censorship. Those words getting censored are mandated for the ENTIRE federal government. Not only the Trump admin's political releases or campaign statements for future elections. Which means at least in terms of speech, they are centralizing control of different departments of the federal government that are traditionally able to operate independently given their size, and the mandate from our founding fathers to decentralize as much of our government as possible. So again... I'll ask the question, do you believe in decentralized government or do you want to stay true to your prior statement that you believe the Trump admin should be able to pick the words of all federal government speech even if it's outside of the core political arm of the White House???
Trump Advisers Have Discussed a Job for Adams if He Quits Mayor’s Race The conversations have also involved Curtis Sliwa with the goal of giving Andrew Cuomo a better chance of defeating Zohran Mamdani in November. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/09/03/nyregion/trump-adams-sliwa-quit-nyc-mayor.html excerpt: Advisers to President Trump have discussed the possibility of giving Mayor Eric Adams of New York City a position in the administration as a way to clear the field in November’s mayoral election and damage the chances of the Democratic front-runner, Zohran Mamdani, according to three people with knowledge of the discussions. The talks have also involved finding a possible place in the administration for the Republican candidate, Curtis Sliwa. The goal, the people said, would be to give former Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo a better chance of defeating Mr. Mamdani in November’s general election. The discussions within Mr. Trump’s orbit about making a potentially audacious intervention date back weeks — and it is unclear if they will ultimately amount to anything. But the topic has taken on added urgency in New York in recent days as an already chaotic race steams into the last stretch of the campaign season. known Mr. Trump for more than 40 years. Mr. Cuomo is running as a third-party candidate after badly losing June’s Democratic primary to Mr. Mamdani. Those New Yorkers have been frantically searching for any way to halt the rise of the Mr. Mamdani, a 33-year-old state assemblyman and democratic socialist who they fear will sour the city’s business climate, and have discussed potentially offering the mayor public or private sector jobs to encourage him to drop out. John Catsimatidis, a billionaire grocery and oil magnate in New York, said in an interview that he had spoken with Mr. Trump about the race on Sunday and expected the shape of the contest could change in the coming days. “He’s very concerned,” Mr. Catsimatidis said of the president. “How do they say it, this is for all the tea in China. This is serious.” Any move by the Trump administration could be explosive in a deeply Democratic city like New York, where the president remains unpopular. more at the link
